It is also reported that Salman Khan has been protested by the Tamil community group members for his proposed Sri Lanka visit for IIFA awards.

It is also reported that Bollywood stars were requested to boycott the event to show their respect to the dead civilians. It is seen that IIFA will make the relation between the two countries from sweet to sour.

However, it is believed that IIFA will help Sri Lanka to make stronger ties and improve better relations with India.

With the vision of building bridge across businesses, communities, nations and cinema, creating ‘One people, One world’, IIFA has started its journey in Sri Lanka. This event has come as a 'big opportunity' to promote Sri Lanka in Bollywood.

Sri Lankan Captain, Kumar Sangakkara, is a big fan of Bollywood movies and like all the Khans. He believes that IIFA would help Sri Lanka to go beyond all the barriers, including social and political. It would help to make bridge between the two countries. The IIFA 2010 Awards will be enjoyed by the Sri Lankan people.

To rehabilitate former Tamil Tigers child soldiers, a charity match will be played between Sri Lankan selectors and Indian celebrities. Money that would collect through this humanity project will be used to re-establish, re-educated and rehabilitated the child soldiers.

Kumar Sangakkara appreciated it and said, “It will be lot of fun and lot of entertainment. It is also a very touching humanitarian cause as a village for 100 families will be built. It is a great initiative”.

Bollywood has international appeal around the world. In Sri Lanka, it has huge popularity. It is true that IIFA has become a great source of entertainment for Sri Lankan people. If super stars boycott this event then it will make negative impact about Sri Lanka around the world.

Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in Mourinho’s Real Madrid Plan

Jose Mourinho, the most likely new coach of Real Madrid, has revealed his interest for two England midfielders: Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. Both the players in their positions are considered among the best in the world.

It is expected that Real Madrid would officially announce Mourinho’s move to the club from Inter Milan very soon. In fact, the Spanish giants recently sacked coach Manuel Pellegrini.

Former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has always been an admirer of the two creative midfielders. During his stint at Chelsea, he tried to bring in Gerrard at the West London club.

Real Madrid is believed to hand Mourinho a large amount to spend in the Summer transfer market. Real failed to win any silverware last season despite spending a huge amount to land the players like Ronaldo and Kaka last summer.

This year, they are ready to go for the players Mourinho suggests, and in return, they want trophy next season. After bringing Champions League glory to Inter Milan, Mourinho has once again proved that he has the ‘magic touch’ when it comes to winning trophies.

Reports available in the media also suggest that the coach is also keen to sign Chelsea left back Ashley Cole. However, signing Gerrard and Lampard would not be that easy after the two players having spent big part of their successful careers at their current clubs.

India vs Zimbabwe 1st ODI 2010: Preview and Live Score

After the end of Twenty20 World Cup 2010, Zimbabwe and India are going to play their first one-day international game in the upcoming tri-nation ODI series in Zimbabwe. Host team, Zimbabwe, will take on India on May 28, 2010 in the first match of triangular series. This match will be played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. It is scheduled to start at 07:00 GMT and 12:30 Indian Standard Time.

India:

Twenty-four-year-old player, Suresh Raina, will be seen leading Indian cricket team in this tour series. He has become the 20th Indian captain and the first from Uttar Pradesh. It is going to be the most important match in his career as he will make his captaincy debut against Zimbabwe.

Suresh has not gained enough experience to lead any team. He has led the India A team in the past and his home state of Uttar Pradesh.

No doubt, it will not be an easy task for him as he will have to lead a young Indian squad. It will be interesting to see if he can successfully lead the team.

Before leaving India, he attended his first-ever pre-tour press conference in Mumbai. When he was asked if he had got any tips from regular captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he revealed that he was asked to keep things simple.

It will be interesting to see if Suresh Raina pays attention to his skipper’s advice when it comes to the action in Zimbabwe. India’s most experienced player, Sachin Tendulkar, told him to be humble. His humble attitude will help him to achieve everything.

Getting captaincy means extra responsibility. It will not be different for Suresh Raina. He takes it as a big challenge. He played under Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni, who are known as the best captains in the history of Indian cricket. Let’s see if he follows their foot steps and takes India to a better position.

MS Dhoni, who was called “Captain Cool” for his cool gesture during team’s serious situation, has been rested for tiredness. His fans will miss him a lot. However, it is expected that Dhoni will make his come back as soon as possible.

Bowling line up will be the main cause of concern for the Indian cricket team as there are no senior bowlers. Selectors rested some senior players from this short tour series.

To fill up the gap, selectors called some young and inexperienced bowlers. No doubt, it will be a challenging task for them, but at the same time, it will be interesting to see if they can support their team.

However, skipper, Suresh Raina, said that Zimbabwe tour will be a learning experience for the inexperienced bowlers. He also said that bowlers will get a chance to compete in the seamer-friendly tracks to secure their positions before the seniors return.

Suresh Raina will largely depend on Umesh Yadav, Vinay Kumar and Ashok Dinda as they have good form in domestic cricket. Their performance brought them in the main squad. Now, they will have to struggle hard to prove their quality and advance their career in the international cricket.

Vinay Kumar has been called as the replacement of injured Praveen kumar. He, along with Ashok Dinda, will play an important role for team India.

Zimbabwean venues are helpful for pace bowling so, Indian cricket team will have to use more pace bowlers to get the benefit of the pitch. However, Indian batsmen are not skilled in bounce and pace. Because of these two weaknesses they were eliminated from the Super Eight round in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2010 that took place in West Indies.

Despite India’s poor performance in the recently concluded T20 tournament, Suresh Raina is hopeful of a better performance. Now, they are going to play in the longer format of cricket game that has no similarity with the shortest version of cricket game.

Fans will be interested to see how Indian cricket team performs without some high profile players like MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan. Raina is considered as the only experienced player in Indian squad. He will have to perform under huge pressure. It might also affect his performance.

Zimbabwe:

Zimbabwe cricket team will also play under a new captain, Elton Chigumbura. Elton Chigumbura is looking forward to the series as an opportunity to improve their own game against two fielding weakened nations.

It is a great opportunity for his team to prove that they can play well against the top nations in international cricket. He will be looking to win as many games as possible and continue the form.

As Indian cricket team reached Zimbabwe without the majority of their senior players, host team will be looking forward to take advantage.

Indian cricket team has been drafted as the second favorite team following Sri Lanka in the tri-nation series.

However, host team Zimbabwe is no less powerful. They improved their performance day by day. In the T20 World Cup 2010 warm-up matches, they defeated two strong teams: Australia and Pakistan.

Another reason to give Zimbabwe the favorite tag is that Indian selectors have selected a second-string Indian team where nine senior players have not been included.

Despite India’s shocking performance in T20 world cup, stand-in captain, Suresh Raina, believes his young side will make big bounce back in the winning streak. This tour series can reduce India’s pain as they failed to get the trophy second time. Indian cricket team is the number one in Test ranking. They will try hard to take the number one position on ODI ranking as well.

It is also believed that India vs Zimbabwe 1st tri-nation ODI series will be the much viewed game. Fans of both countries will be watching to see this game live on TV. Ten Sports will broadcast this match live in South Asian sub-continent including India, Bangladesh and Pakistan etc. Doordarshan will also broadcast this match live in India. Supersport has got the right to broadcast in Africa.

Here, I am giving some websites name where from you can get live score of this match:

In the end, the India vs Zimbabwe is going to be one of the most exciting and nail biting ODI matches in the tri-nation series.

Arsenal Valued Cesc Fabregas at ₤80 million

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has already made it clear that he sees future away from Arsenal. The midfielder has grown into a world class player since his arrival at the North London club from Barcelona in 2003. Now, Barcelona is desperate to complete the signing of their former student before the world cup football 2010 begins. Barcelona is reportedly interested to spend ₤30 million for the player.

However, Arsenal has recently valued Fabregas at ₤80 million. So, it seems that the final decision on his future may come after the world cup, though Barcelona wants to wrap up the deal before the tournament considering that a successful world cup could escalate the player’s price.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has no headache at the moment as it knows that Fabregas would move to Barcelona sooner or later. Now, Gunners are keen to make some good cash in on their most prized asset.

Arsenal and Chelsea Eyeing on Barcelona Midfielder Gai Assulin

Arsenal has now set their target on Barcelona’s young midfielder Gai Assulin. The Israel international has also attracted the attention of Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The advantage is that Assulin has now been a free agent. So, he can move to any club according to his wish, without seeking Barcelona’s consent.

Signing young talents from Barcelona is nothing new to Arsenal. The North London club signed current captain Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida from the Catalan side in the past. Over the years, Cesc Fabregas has developed into one of today’s best playmakers in the world.

Assulin did not get enough first team football last season. As a result, there are many reasons for him to consider the Arsenal and Chelsea interests. Considering Wenger’s reputation in nurturing young talents, Assulin could be tempted to move to the North London club.

Chelsea, however, is trying to bring in some young players in its bid to strengthen the squad for the next season. The Blues have many experienced players, but it lacks youthful exuberance. So, Ancelotti is looking to land some young talented players in the summer transfer window.

Manchester City Preparing a £20m Plus a Player Bid for James Milner

Manchester City is now desperate to acquire the service of Aston Villa’s versatile midfielder James Milner for the next season. The England international has had a highly successful season with Villa and is now reportedly the target of a number of clubs including City’s arch-rival Manchester United and Chelsea. Manchester City already has a £20m bid rejected by Villa for the highly rated player, but manager Roberto Mancini has no intention to give up on his pursuit yet. Rather, he is now planning to offer an improved bid of £20m plus one of the four players: Stephen Ireland, Micah Richards, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Nedum Onuoha.

City is expecting that this offer would be enticing enough for Villa to jump in. Villa boss Martin O’Neill may consider the offer seriously thinking that he can get an established player for free plus a £20m surplus to spend in the summer transfer window. However, he may think otherwise too. Manchester City is a big rival for Aston Villa in the race of a Champions league spot. So, he may not like to strengthen City squad with his most prized asset. Rather, he would like to consider the offers from Manchester Untied and Chelsea.

However, Manchester City is now determined to land Milner in their pursuit to become a serious contender for next season’s premier league title. City failed to win a spot in Champions league this season despite spending heavily last summer. However, the Eastlanders, who suddenly got bucket full of money to spend in the transfer market since their Arab takeover, are willing to continue their spending spree this Summer.

Arsenal’s Hunt for Goalkeeper Continues

Following some disappointing performances from Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski this season, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be looking for a new goalkeeper for next season. A number of goalkeepers have been linked with a move to the club, and it seems the list is only getting longer.

Goalkeepers like Gianluigi Buffon, Doni, Bologna keeper Emiliano Viviano and some others have already been reported to be linked with a move to Arsenal next season. Well, the list is not yet finished. At list, there are two more goalkeepers who Arsenal is currently eyeing on.

Arsene Wenger has been an admirer of Olympique Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris who has recently been the best goalkeeper of the French league for 2 consecutive seasons now. However, Wenger knows that Lloris would not come at a cheap, even if Lyon agrees to let him go. In fact, the Arsenal manager has to spend over £12 million to secure his service.

So, the Frenchman has another goalkeeper in his target list: Andriy Pyatov. The Ukrainian international has already shown his talent for Shakhtar Donetsk during their triumph in UEFA Cup 2008-09. The 25-year-old keeper has talent as well as experience, and thus, filling the bills for Arsene Wenger.

Well, nothing is confirmed yet and Wenger has not made any formal bid for neither of the goalkeeper. However, it is believed that Wenger would spend considerable amount of money in the summer transfer window, following Arsenal’s strong financial success last season.

Raymond Domenech Cut France World Cup Squad to 24

There is now only 1 man extra in the France squad for the World Cup 2010. Coach Raymond Domenech has recently reduced the squad to 24 by excluding 6 players from the 30-man squad announced last week. In fact, there is just one defender extra who will be dropped by 1 June, the FIFA deadline for the teams to submit their final squad. Domenech has kept the extra man as the back up for injured defender William Gallas.

If William Gallas can not recover his calf injury by the end of May, he would be the defender to be axed from the squad. However, if he can return from injury in time, then one of the 7 defenders would be dropped. There is possibility that the axe will come on uncapped Marc Planus.

The players dropped from the 30-man squad are: goalkeeper Mickael Landreau, two defenders: Adil Rami and Rod Fanni, two midfielders: Hatem Ben Arfa and Yann M'Vila and forward Jimmy Briand. Mickael Landreau and Hatem Ben Arfa had the same fate before the Euro 2008.

Earlier, France coach Raymond Domenech created surprise by not including Arsenal youngster Aaron Ramsey in the 30-man squad. France was the finalists of last world cup in Germany, but the Les Bleus suffered a shocking first round exit in Euro 2008.

Work and Rest, Rest and Work

This is a very simple rule but I often forget. I ignore the matter of rest and that is why, when I am supposed to work, I am tired and exhausted and cannot work with full focus. As a result, I do a lot of works but I am all the time tired and the works I do cannot bring the desired results. Well, I cannot blame anyone but myself because when I am not 100% fresh but in a tired mood then I use my full potential. This is a simple matter but I failed to realize until now.
Of course, my own life has been full of ups and downs and I have been very unlucky to suffer a series of misfortunes. However, now, things look much brighter and I should be able to rest as much as needed at last.
From today, I want to again leave coffee, coke and if possible tea. Tea is not bad like coffee and Coke but tea also disrupts my normal sleeping. The most important to follow is this matter: work and rest, rest and work. This is a very simple matter but for many years, I forgot it. Now, I have to again follow it.

Manchester United and Arsenal Tracking Phil Jagielka

Everton centre-back Phil Jagielka has attracted interest from top premier league clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal. Phil Jagielka may have missed most of the last season through knee injury, his versatility and experience could easily make an impact in any of the premier league side. The player can also play as a full back as well as a midfielder. Naturally, any club would like to capitalize on his versatility.

Arsenal is now looking for a defender with William Gallas all set to leave the Gunners this summer. Moreover, Arsene Wenger recently pointed out defense as the weak point of Arsenal. Manchester United, on the other hand, has a plenty of good central defenders, but the Red Devils suffered a lot during the last season when a number of defenders were out of action through injury. So, Sir Alex Ferguson would also like to strengthen his defense back up.

It is reported that both the clubs would start bidding for Phil Jagielka at Phil Jagielka. However, Everton would like to cash in on the player’s ability.

Real Madrid Targets Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard

Real Madrid has set its target on Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho and Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard. Real Madrid failed to impress this season despite last summer’s huge expenditure to land the players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.

Now, rumors in the media suggest that the Spanish giants are eyeing on Mourinho and Lampard and the club would make a big amount bid for them in summer transfer market. Given Real Madrid’s typical spending spree, one can not rule out the possibility of Mourinho and Lampard joining Real Madrid.

Real Madrid was surprisingly crushed out of Champions League and is currently 1 point behind leader Barcelona in Spanish League with a match in hand. They can only retain the la liga title only luck favors them. Naturally, Real Madrid is not happy with current coach Manuel Pellegrini and it seems that the club would sack him this Summer.

Well, I do not know whether Real Madrid will succeed in signing the coach and the midfielder. However, even if Mourinho joins the club, I am doubtful about the club’s ability to live up tot the expectation. If you are a Real Madrid fan, please do not get me wrong.

Real Madrid may have many star players, but the team does not look very balanced. Another important thing is that Real Madrid needs to focus on building a strong youth side. After Iker Casillas, its youth side could not produce any quality player for the senior team.

Real Madrid has a different business model and they may have gained some success from business point of view. However, their on-field performance is not satisfactory at all. They could not win Champions League title since 2002 and over the last few seasons they could not even reach the last four of the tournament despite having many stars in the squad.

So, from the point of view of on-field performance, Real Madrid should take up a sustainable business policy so that they can build up a youth side that will be serving the club for a long time.

Rain Brought a lot of Comfort to the Body

Again I am losing my battle in weight loss and eating junk foods. For example, yesterday, I drank 2 cups of coffee and 3 glasses of Coke. Unfortunately, it was a very bad day and I was out whole day and it was very tough for me. So, I ate a lot of junk foods too: French fry, fried chicken and kebab. It is a very hot month of May.
Fortunately, this evening, storm and rain came. Now, the weather is very lovely and I feel very fresh in my body.
Today is a very big day for more than 1.2 million students in my country as SSC Results 2010 will be published. I sat for the exam exactly 20 years ago in 1990. Thanks God I passed that exam with a very good grade.

Chelsea Captain John Terry Fit for FA Cup Final against Portsmouth

There was a doubt over the availability of Chelsea captain John Terry in Saturday’s FA Cup final against Portsmouth. The defender took a blow to his leg during a training session and the nature of the injury provided a fear at the Chelsea camp for the time being, just before the scan results showing nothing serious to worry about.

That means Chelsea is not going to miss its most experienced player for the Portsmouth clash at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday. Chelsea is now full of confident after clinching the premier league title last week. More than that, the FA Cup final looks to be an easy affair for the Blues, considering Portsmouth’s poor form this season.

Portsmouth was relegated from premier league this season. However, Chelsea’s in-form striker Didier Drogba said that Chelsea needs to remain focused on the game without needing to consider the current form of Portsmouth. Moreover, Drogba, who won the golden boot in premier league season with 29 goals, revealed that he was still hungry for goal and would like to help Chelsea win the match.

Dimitar Berbatov Retires from International Football

Manchester Unitred striker Dimitar Berbatov has announced his retirement from Bulgarian national team. The decision came as a big surprise for many as he is still 29 which seems to be too early for retirement from international football.

Dimitar Berbatov said that he had taken the decision by himself, not by the influence of anybody else. He thinks that there are many talented players in Bulgaria who want to prove their talent as strikers and he sees good future for Bulgaria national team. He also confirmed that his retirement decision has nothing to do with the criticism he is suffering for his recent poor form.

The striker has been under huge pressure at Manchester Untied as he is struggling for form since joining the club in 2008 for a free of £30.75m from Tottenham Hotspur. There are many who even suggest Alex Ferguson may offload the striker in Summer transfer window.

However, Berbatov said that he would stay at Manchester United and play for the club until his contract expires. He also added that he had the quality to get success with Manchester United.

Zanetti, Cambiasso and Gago Left out of Argentina’s World Cup Squad

Diego Maradona once again created surprises by strange selection. Recently, he has declared Argentina’s 30-man provisional squad for the upcoming world cup. Surprisingly, Maradona did not include three players like Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso and Fernando Gago.

Javier Zanetti is one of the most experienced Argentine players currently active in international football. The Inter Milan defender has the experience of representing Argentina in two world cup tournaments. His Inter Milan team mate Esteban Cambiasso is another surprise exclusion who has been in excellent form this season for the Milan club. The midfielder helped Inter reach the Champions League final.

There were very few people who could think of Fernando Gago being left out of Argentina’s preliminary squad. The Real Madrid midfielder has been in good form with his club.

Since taking up the charge of Argentina national team last year, Diego Maradona surprised the world football with his bizarre selection. He called up many veteran players who had already seen their best with Argentina.

The participating 32 teams were divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. Tournament draw was held on 4 December 2009 in Cape Town where the 32 participating teams were divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each.

Teams of a particular group will face each other once in a round robin league system in the group stage. That means, each team will play 3 games in the group stage. Top 2 teams from each group on the basis of points achieved will go through to the round of 16.

The knock-out phase of the tournament starts with the round of 16 where 16 teams take part in a one-off game to get into the quarter final stage. Winning teams of the round of 16 will progress to the quarter final where 8 teams will take part in 4 games through which the 4 semi finalists will be decided. Two winners of the semi final round will meet each other in the tournament final on 11 July 2010, just a day after the losing semi finalists compete for the third place.
