Arsene Wenger Comes out in Support of Cesc Fabregas

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come out to back his captain Cesc Fabregas on the issue of his reported row with referee Lee Mason at the half time of Gunners’ 2-1 Tuesday night victory over Everton in a Premier League fixture at the Emirates stadium.

After the match, Everton manager David Moyes accused Fabregas of abusing the match officials with vulgar language inside the tunnel for allowing a controversial goal and claimed the Spaniard deserved a red card for his conduct. On the other hand, Fabregas revealed his suspect if the referee was paid by Everton for allowing the goal which was a clear offside.

Now, Moyes and Fabregas have created a frenzied situation in the media with their aggressive comments. However, Wenger has come into the scene with his support for Fabregas on this regard and defended his captain by saying that many things can be said ‘in the heat of the moment’. Rather, he has reprimand his Everton counterpart for revealing what happened in the heat of the moment. The Frenchman believes that managers should not come up with these things in public.

Finally, Arsenal boss added that his captain was being targeted by opponents and this chapter was now closed to him as referees did not find any guilt in Fabregas’ behavior. Here, it is noteworthy that match referee did not include anything regarding Fabregas and his reported bad conduct in his match report. So, the Football Association is not taking any action against Fabregas on this issue.

Real Madrid wants Cesc Fabregas Too: Will he join?

Just before the beginning of this season, we saw that the whole transfer window was almost hijacked by Barcelona about Cesc Fabregas. In the end, Cesc Fabregas did not join Barcelona and again as January transfer window is approaching, there is a now intense media rumor about the future of this Spanish midfield player.
Not only Barcelona is interested about him but now it seems that even Real Madrid wants to get Fabregas. Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho likes this player and there is some report that he wants to have him at Real.
If he joins Real Madrid then it will be very funny because first of all, Fabregas is from Barcelona and from his childhood he played for Barcelona. We know that Barcelona and Real Madrid are like bitter enemies in Spain. So, it will be really interesting to see whether Real Madrid can become successful in taking him.
Barcelona at this moment is more or less silent about him because the club is facing some financial problems. Of course, in the end, everything depends on what Arsenal and Fabregas decides. Last summer, Fabregas wanted to join Barcelona but Arsenal did not want to sell him. Now, let us see what happens.

Cesc Fabregas is in dilemma over his Future this Summer

Cesc Fabregas has become the most talked about player in this summer transfer market. I cannot remember of any player in near past that attracted so much media coverage over transfer matter in recent years. Perhaps, we have not seen the last of the drama concerning this Spanish midfielder.
He recently gave an interview to a media and said, "I am from Barcelona. I am a club member, along with my grandfather, my uncle and my cousin. I feel those colours and have since I was young. I am Catalan, I am from Arenys, I have come through the Barca youth system... However, I am Arsenal's captain. I am a Gunner and that is where I have made myself as a player and matured as a person."

He also talked about Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger and praised him generously. On the other hand, he also praised the some of the players in Barcelona team. Thus, he is in a real dilemma at this moment.
Cesc Fabregas should seriously talk to Barcelona and ask them to come with a good offer that Arsenal cannot deny. Of course, Barcelona bosses are not that much interested to spend good amount of money for him and this is perhaps the main problem now.

Should Cesc Fàbregas remain captain in Arsenal?

The future of Cesc Fàbregas looks uncertain everyday. Everyday there is new news about his future. And it did not clear what will happen at the start of the next season. He is the captain of Arsenal football team and there are some doubts about some fans whether he should remain as the captain against this kind of intense media speculation.

Right now, there is no doubt that Cesc Fàbregas is the top player of the club and he gets the highest amount of salary. So, it was a very wise decision of Arsene Wenger to make him captain last season. He also returned the club and the coach the best way about trusting such a young person like him for the role of captaincy. Now, with his saying becoming uncertain, perhaps it is time for Arsene Wenger to select a new captain.

There is also an opposite view. Some fans think that if Wenger now comes up with an announcement of appointing a new captain then it may upset Fàbregas then he would not be willing to stay at London for any reason.

Right now, most football fans in the world including England are very busy with World Cup. Perhaps Wenger should address this matter after the end of the world cup football.

Arsenal Valued Cesc Fabregas at ₤80 million

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has already made it clear that he sees future away from Arsenal. The midfielder has grown into a world class player since his arrival at the North London club from Barcelona in 2003. Now, Barcelona is desperate to complete the signing of their former student before the world cup football 2010 begins. Barcelona is reportedly interested to spend ₤30 million for the player.

However, Arsenal has recently valued Fabregas at ₤80 million. So, it seems that the final decision on his future may come after the world cup, though Barcelona wants to wrap up the deal before the tournament considering that a successful world cup could escalate the player’s price.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has no headache at the moment as it knows that Fabregas would move to Barcelona sooner or later. Now, Gunners are keen to make some good cash in on their most prized asset.

Will it be the season of Cesc Fabregas?

Last year, Barcelona clinched all the titles in Spain, Europe and World. It was the year of Lionel Messi and he was considered to be the greatest footballer of last season. There is no doubt that Messi played superbly and he caught the award of FIFA World Footballer of the year. This year, it is not clear that who will become the top footballer in Europe and in the world. Messi is still playing well and Cristiano Ronaldo now in Real Madrid. Wayne Rooney is in good form in Manchester United. Another player who is doing well is Cesc Fabregas of Arsenal. He is the Arsenal captain and he is like the Maradona of her Arsenal.
Right now, Fabregas is the only top quality player in the team. Arshavin is good but he has been suffering from injury. There is no Robin van Persie for many months. So, whatever Arsenal has achieved, Fabregas has major contribution behind it.
If Arsenal can do the impossible thing and win league title and UEFA champions League trophy both then I am sure that next year Cesc Fabregas will get the award of best footballer of the year.

Bad News: Cesc Fabregas Wont Return in January 2010

Cesc Fabregas is the captain and leading goal scorer and the top player of arsenal football club at this moment. Today, it came out that he cannot return to football action for the rest of this month. This is perhaps the worst news that can come to arsenal supporters at this moment because they are also going to miss Alexandre Song this month because of African Cup of Nations. Thus, the midfield has become what weak for Arsene Wenger. Winger does not have a lot of options now in the midfield position and perhaps you will have to rely on Aaron Ramsey.
Cesc Fabregas should now take some rest and try to come back as soon as he can. There have been a lot of speculations in the recent months that he could go to Barcelona but he has always denied it very strongly.

Why Cesc Fàbregas Should not go to Barcelona?

There is a lot of media speculations that Barcelona would try their best to buy Cesc Fàbregas in January 2010 Transfer Windows. Well, it is still not clear whether Arsenal would sell him or not. However, what I understand is that a lot depends on what he wants. If he wants to go to Barcelona then Arsene Wenger would not hesitate to sell him. The reality is that it would bring a lot of money for the London club. I don’t think that Wenger would agree to fee of less than £30. This is a huge amount of money. However, I think that Fabregas should not leave Arsenal and go to Barcelona.
Cesc Fàbregas is a world class player and he came to London at the age of 16. Now, he is the captain here and he is the most influential player. He has got a lot of opportunities to flourish and if he stays here another 5-6 years, he will surely become a legend. On the other hand, if he goes to Barcelona then from the first month, it is uncertain whether he will be in the first eleven in most of the matches. They already have too many big players and naturally, he will have a very hard time to get enough match time. Yes, he will get a lot of money there but it will be like committing suicide at a very early age.

Cesc Fabregas: An Arsenal Star with Barcelona DNA?

I hope that you have clearly understood what the title indicates. Yes, I am talking about Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas who has been linked with his youth club Barcelona for sometime now. No doubt, Barcelona is trying its best to acquire the service of their old student and there is every possibility Fabregas may move to the Catalan side next season.

However, what is interesting is that Cesc Fabregas kissed on the club badge after scoring a goal in Arsenal’s 6-2 thrashing of Blackburn Rovers last Sunday. Naturally, it should have meant to be his affection for the club where he has been playing for since 2003. The irony is that it actually meant something different to many Arsenal fans. Why?

Well, the matter of fact is that two former Arsenal stars: Thierry Henry and Emmanuel Adebayor- kissed on Arsenal badge on their shirts as part of their scoring celebration just before moving away from the club in the following seasons. So, you can know understand that Fabregas’ kissing on the club badge has given more ground on the speculation that he would join his former club Barcelona in near future. Well, nothing is clear as of now and nobody knows what is going to happen to Cesc Fabregas.

Anyway, would you be surprised if Fabregas joins Barcelona in winter transfer window?

Cesc Fabregas: My Future at Arsenal Does not Depend on Arsene Wenger

(This entry was originally published on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009)

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has said that he wants to continue playing for Arsenal and hopes that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would leave the club before him. While talking about his future at Arsenal, French international Cesc Fabregas has recently made this comment.

Well, having read the comment, you might think that Cesc Fabregas’ future at the club depend on whether Wenger would stay or leave the club. However, Fabregas has made it clear that his future does not depend on the future of Wenger at the club, despite stating that he has great respect for the manager.

You perhaps already know that both Cesc Fabregas and Arsene Wenger have been linked with a move to Real Madrid next season. Fabregas has even also attracted interest from another Spanish giants Barcelona.

Cesc Fabregas Eyeing for Arsenal Return against Manchester City

(This entry was originally posted on Saturday, February 21st, 2009?

Injured Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is looking to come back in action against Manchester City on February 4. Spanish star has been sidelined since he picked up a ligament injury during the December 21 match against Liverpool. Cesc Fabregas was handed the Arsenal captaincy earlier this season after William Gallas was stripped off the Arsenal captaincy.

Cesc Fabregas has recently revealed that he needs about three more weeks to make his leg fit and he is hopeful to come back in action after five or six weeks. The Euro 2008 winning Spanish international’s injury is thought to be one of the big reasons behind Arsene Wenger’s quest for signing Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin.

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger Eyes on Stephen Ireland of Manchester City

(This entry was originally published on Monday, January 5th, 2009)

Since last Summer, Arsenal has been looking for a quality midfielder following the departures of a number of key holding midfielders. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is now more desperate to land a midfielder in the January transfer window, knowing the fact that he would miss the service of star midfielder, Captain Cesc Fabregas as the Spanish international has been sidelined with injury and would remain so for a number of months to come.

So, Arsene Wenger’s temptation of signing a quality midfielder is pretty much understandable at this moment. After Everton made it clear that their Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta was not for sale in January, Wenger has reportedly turned his sight on Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland who has been in excellent form so far this season, scoring 9 goals and assisting 7 overall. No doubt, 22-year-old Stephen Ireland could be an effective signing for Arsenal, but I do not find any reason for which newly rich Manchester City would like to let one of its key performers leave the club in January when they have enough money to go for big-money deals.

Arsene Wenger Wary of Webster Rule ahead of January 2009 Transfer Window

(This entry was originally posted in this blog on December 9, 2008 and the information is based on that time.)

Arsene Wenger is now worried about Webster rule under which he may lose some of his young talents from Arsenal. The French manager lost Mathiue Flamini and Alexandr Hleb during Summer 2008 transfer window under this ruling, and he thinks, Webster could be dangerous for the club and all the clubs should be wary of this rule before players and their agents start using this rule broadly.

Scottish professional football player Andy Webster made a move from Scottish club Heart of Midlothian to Wigan Athletic during the third year of his four-year contract with the club, using the loophole in Article 17 of a EU law which is adopted by FIFA too. The article talks about the compensation of breaching a contract ‘without just cause’. According to this article, a professional, aged under 28, can walk out of the contract after three years of the signing of the deal. Andy Webster moved to Wigan Athletic in the third of his four-year deal with Heart, given the fact that he joined a foreign club and gave enough notice to his previous club. Many legal proceedings took place already over this controversial transfer. His previous club Hearts demanded a compensation of £625,00 which was reduced to £150,000 by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on 30 January 2008. Andy Webster is currently playing for Bristol City on loan from Scottish club Rangers.

So, there is no doubt, Arsenal has a lot to worry about this rule. There are many clubs are eyeing on Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas who is expected to be a hot cake in the upcoming January transfer window. Rumors have it in the media that many clubs are planning to make lucrative bid for the player in January. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger did hide his fear about Cesc Fabregas, stating that his the young midfielder can leave the club under this rule.

Reuters reported:

“Cesc (Fabregas) could leave under the ruling. But I know he loves it here. It is important also we get him to sign the new deal offered.”

He added: “Many in football forget that the Webster Rule exists. After three years a player can either sign a deal or go.

“Top clubs might handle this but, at a lower level, it could ruin them. “Agents at the moment have been reluctant to go into the Webster ruling. But it will happen in the same way as the Bosman ruling. Football is in fear at the moment.” The Bosman Ruling, which came into force 13 years ago, allowed players freedom of contract and movement and revolutionised the face of European football.

There are many clubs who are ready to pay such a compensation for signing a player like Fabregas. That is the main problem for Wenger at this moment. If the player is offered a huge amount, then he might be tempted to leave the club. Now, let us see what FIFA decides about Webster ruling.
