Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in Mourinho’s Real Madrid Plan

Jose Mourinho, the most likely new coach of Real Madrid, has revealed his interest for two England midfielders: Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. Both the players in their positions are considered among the best in the world.

It is expected that Real Madrid would officially announce Mourinho’s move to the club from Inter Milan very soon. In fact, the Spanish giants recently sacked coach Manuel Pellegrini.

Former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has always been an admirer of the two creative midfielders. During his stint at Chelsea, he tried to bring in Gerrard at the West London club.

Real Madrid is believed to hand Mourinho a large amount to spend in the Summer transfer market. Real failed to win any silverware last season despite spending a huge amount to land the players like Ronaldo and Kaka last summer.

This year, they are ready to go for the players Mourinho suggests, and in return, they want trophy next season. After bringing Champions League glory to Inter Milan, Mourinho has once again proved that he has the ‘magic touch’ when it comes to winning trophies.

Reports available in the media also suggest that the coach is also keen to sign Chelsea left back Ashley Cole. However, signing Gerrard and Lampard would not be that easy after the two players having spent big part of their successful careers at their current clubs.

Frank Lampard Eyeing on Chelsea’s FA Cup Scoring Record

Frank Lampard has an opportunity to go closer to Chelsea’s all time top scoring record of 25 goals in FA Cup when Chelsea takes on Stoke City in the quarter final of FA Cup on 7 March 2010. Lampard has always shown excellent performance in FA Cup and the midfielder is now just 9 goals away from Bobby Tambling’s record 25 goals in the tournament. The English midfielder said that he would like to score more goals in the tournament, specially in the upcoming rounds.

He says, "Normally I have managed to score a few in the earlier rounds," Lampard is reported to have told ITN.

"But I would rather score them in the later rounds when they can be really important.”

Frank Lampard has been in good form now and Chelsea would expect some good performance against Stoke City so that they can easily reach the semi final of the tournament.

Chelsea playmaker Frank Lampard has been full of praise about his three Chelsea teammates: Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba and Nicholas Anelka. After the confidence-booster 3-0 win at Arsenal, Chelsea has successfully held on to their 5-point lead at the top. The Chelsea trio played pivotal roles in their recent success at Arsenal. Though Lampard does not want to make any prediction about the title run as a long season is now ahead of them, he has said that his club has three world class players in Ashley Cole, Drogba and Anelka.

"Didier is so strong and his all-round game is brilliant," he told the club's official website. "When he plays his best I don't think there is anyone to match him, and I want to talk about Anelka as well, because he is right up there with him.

"Ashley has shown it for a long time. For me, for the last two years he has been completely out on his own as the best left back in the world.

Frank Lampard himself has been playing a great job in the Chelsea midfield by setting up goals for the two strikers Drogba and Anelka. So, Chelsea is now in the right track in their attempt to retain the premier league title this season with most of their star players playing at their best.

Frank Lampard thinks that Chelsea is still very much in the title race. At this moment, Manchester United leads the premier league by 7 points with a game in hand. If Manchester United can win against Newcastle United this week, then they will go 10 points clear at the top. Well, Lampaprd thinks that Untied would not go winning forever and he expects that Sir Alex Ferguson boys would make mistake and Chelsea would capitalize on that. Lampard has also said that there are lots of points available in the league.

Well, I agree with Lampard on the fact that possibility of Chelsea’s title run rests on poor performance by United. In fact, Manchester United would have to lose points if Chelsea is to close the gap. However, considering the high-flying form of Manchester United, I think, they are less likely to lose as many points as Chelsea would require to bridge up the gap.

Frank Lampard: End of Days at Chelsea?

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has recently rejected a new four-year deal offered by the club. Lampard wants a five-year contract with the club. He still has a year to go on his current contract. In the backdrop of it, Italian club Inter Milan is interested to get the English midfielder in their squad and they have already made a 10 million pounds (12.5 million euros) offer for Frank Lampard. However, Inter Milan’s two bids have been rejected already.

However, Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has recently said that the new contract offer for Frank Lampard is still on the table. He claims that the club wants Frank Lampard for a long-term. Mr. Buck also hopes that Frank Lampard will sign the new contract by the end of his current contract with the club.

Frank Lampard is one of the regular faces in the starting line up of Chelsea and he played a big role behind Chelsea’s progress to the final of Champions League last season. Though Chelsea failed to win the final against Manchester United, but they ended up with their best ever finish in Champions League.

Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, has recently spoken highly about England’s newly appointed coach Fabio Capello. The star midfielder has compared Capello with Jose Mourinho, Chelsea’s former high profile coach. Terming Capello a proven winner, Lampard has said that he fells excitement to play under Capello. Frank Lampard does not have to wait long as England is squaring up against Switzerland on 6 February in a friendly match.

“He has won titles in two of the top leagues in the world. He’s such a big name and brings charisma and a sense of leadership to the job.”

Fabio Capello took over the England job after the termination of Steve McClaren following England’s failure to qualify for the EURO 2008 tournament. England is going to play their first match next month after suffering the crushing defeat to Croatia in the last qualifying match of EURO 2008. So, Fabio Capello must want to start his job with success and it is, for sure, Frank Lampard is one of his key players to bring out success for him as well as for England.
