Shah Rukh Khan will not attend the IIFA 2010 Awards

Bollywood actor, Shah Rukh Khan, is not sure to join in the most popular award ceremony function, IIFA, which will take place in Sri Lanka between June 3 and June 5. What he excused for not coming for IIFA is the burden of too much work.

Shah Rukh Khan has written on his Twitter account, “I don't think I will be able to come for IIFA...too much work here, will miss Colombo.”

Shah Rukh Khan was named as the captain of Indian celebrities’ cricket team. It is reported that Hrithik Roshan will be captaining the star side because of SRK absence.

Indian celebrities’ cricket team will play against Sri Lankan cricketers with the aim of collecting money to rehabilitate the former Tamil child soldiers.

It is perhaps that Hrithik Roshan is the major star power of the event as star couple, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, will not be attending here. Even, the face of IIFA, Amitabh Bachchan, will make his brief appearance in Sri Lanka.

It is also reported that Salman Khan has been protested by the Tamil community group members for his proposed Sri Lanka visit for IIFA awards.

However, Lara Dutta won’t be performing this year but she will be one of the co-hosts of the awards.

It will be interesting to see if IIFA 2010 Awards can attract the audience without the big names of Bollywood.

Rumor spread out that Shah Rukh Khan would perform at the International Indian Film Academy 2010 Awards that will kick off from June 3 to 5. It has been linked through the organizers of the event.

Salman Khan, who is also well known as the arch-rival of Shah Rukh Khan, had already said that he would perform at this star glittering event. This rumor came after his statement to the media.

It is also speculated that Shah Rukh Khan might not attend at the IIFA Awards due to his cold relationship along with IIFA brand ambassador, Amitabh Bachchan.

May be, Amitabh Bachchan didn’t bring them together to avoid the clash. The most upsetting matter is that Amitabh Bachchan will not attend at the IIFA Awards this year. Even star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will not be seen at this event.

However, it is known to all that he will lead the Indian celebrity cricket team against the Sri Lankan cricket team in a charity game that will be held at end of this function.

India’s top celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi will perform in this event. It is supposed that Boman Irani, Riteish Deshmukh and Lara Dutta will host the event.
