Boxing is a very popular sports event long since. If you find cruelty in this event then you must have missed out the art of this game. Punching, defecting, hands speeding all are something related to art. I found ten heavyweight boxers who could dominate over the boxing ring their time.

Muhammad Ali
Ali is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky in USA in 1942. His birth name was Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. which was changed after his changing religion to Muslim. He was converted to the orthodox Sunni Islam in 1975. He is often told “Black Muslim.” In his career Ali won 56 out of 61 matches and is 37 wins were by Knock Out. He could defeat all of the Heavyweight champions of that time and dominate the heavyweight boxing world in his time. His first heavyweight title came in 1964 through his victory over Liston who is famous for his aggressiveness. He had also won the Gold Medal in 1960 Rome Olympic in light heavyweight before he showed his talent in the heavyweight. Ali’s fight with Frazier in 1971 is considered as ‘Fight of the Century” where Ali got his first professional lose in his career though he played vary well. In 1975, this two legends against fought to each other which is called as the Greatest Fight of All Time where Ali could take revenge of his defeat backed 4 years. After the match Ali said, "This must be what death feels like.” He has been ‘Fighter of the Year” by Ring magazine for highest number of time among the boxers. He took his retirement in 1981. He was honored as the “Sportsman of the Century” by Sports Illustrated in 1999.

This great American heavyweight boxer was born in 1969. His greatness you can find if you consider his career record. He never defeat in his professional career. He won all of his 49 matches among which 43 were by Knock Out. He is the only boxer in the boxing history who could retire undefeated in the heavyweight division. The title of the Oscar winning movie “Rocky” was taken by his name. He started his professional career in 1947 and he was the heavyweight champion from 1952 to 1956. He has been listed at number 14 in the list of 100 Greatest Punchers of All Time by Ring magazine. Marciano worked as guest referee in USA and Canada for several times after taking retirement from professional boxing.
Joe Frazier
Frazier is one of the greatest heavyweight champions in the history of boxing. He is famous for his fighting with Muhammad Ali for three times in which third one in 1975 is dubbed as the greatest fight of all time which is also known as ‘Thriller in Manila’. His career record is also very praiseworthy with the 32 win in 37 matches. His left eye is legally blind and he had to fight with his right eye in his career and his greatness lies here that he sis not express is eye problem until his retirement. He is currently the member of International Boxing hall Of Fame.

This former great heavyweight champion was born in 1949 in Texas, USA. ‘big George’ nicknamed this fighter could win a Gold medal in1986 Mexico Olympic Games in Heavyweight division. He started playing professional boxing in 1969 and in his debut year he could show his talent to the world winning all of his 13 matches including 11 by Knock Out. I the second year of this career he could win all of his 12 matches by Knock Out. By 1971, his win-lose record was 32-0 and he was ranked as the no. one player by the WBA and WBC. He got the prestigious win over Frazier by Knock out in the second round which made Foreman the world champion. He went for retirement in 1977 after being ill seriously. He is now a minister of a church.

Jack is another greatest heavyweight champion of all time. He was born in 1895 in America. He is also one of the famous boxers of pre war period. He hold world champion from 1919 to 1926. This prominent boxer could win 62 matches amongst his 83 appearances in the professional boxing and he won 50 matches by Knock Out in which 26 were in the first round. So, it is clear enough that how much aggressive he was in the ring. His fight against George Carpentier is very famous as the first million dollar gate in the history. A Street of the Madison Square Garden is called by his name Jack Dempsey corner. He is a member of the International Boxing Hall OF Fame.

This former heavyweight champions and one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of the boxing history was born in 1914 in America. After being professional in 1934, he started showing his boxing skill to the world. In his first fight against a champion he knocked out former heavyweight champion Primo Carnera. He became the national hero before starting the World War II. He own 69 out of 72 matches in his career in which he defeated his opponents by Knock Out for 55 times. In his retired life he also acted in some movies. Louis was awarded the Congressional Gold medal for honor in 1982. His two quotes are very famous in boxing which are "He can run, but he can't hide" and "Everyone has a plan until they've been hit."

Evan is a famous name of the present boxing world and also considered to be in the list of greatest champions’ of heavyweight. He was born in 1962 in USA. In his early years of his professional career as a boxer he got success in Cruiserweight division. He won the bronze medal of 1982 summer Olympic held in Los Angeles. In 1990 he became the world heavyweight champion. In his career his fight against Tyson and Lweis are very famous. He won 39 out of his 49 matches and among those 39 victories, 26 were by Knock Out. Holyfield is the four time world champion.
George Chuvalo
Chuvalo was born in 1937 in Canada. This heavyweight boxer had a 21-year long career and in his career he fought against many of the best heavyweight boxers. In his career he never loses any match by Knock Out. His two fights against Muhammad Ali was vary famous. Though he lost both the two but he could show his stamina and defense skill. After winning the first match in 1966 Ali said that "He [Chuvalo] was the toughest man I ever fought. He took all my best shots." In his career he won 73 matches amongst which 64 were by Knock Out. He was inducted in the Canadian Sports Hall Of Fame in 1990.
Mike Tyson
Mike is former heavyweight champion. He was born in America in 1966. He is considered as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. In his career he won 50 out of his 58 matches and he knocked out 44 opponents. His hand speed and accuracy made his opponents fear and he had a very good physical strength. However, this boxer made many controversies in his personal and also in the ring. He had to go to the prison and the worst scandal was in 1997 in a match against Holyfield. In this highly focused match he bit in the right ear of Holyfield during the second round.

Lennox Lewis
Lewis is the former heavyweight champion. He is the third boxer in the heavyweight history who won heavyweight championship in three different occasions. Lewis was born in UK. He won gold medal in 1988 South Korea Olympic games. Lewis is famous for his fight against Tyson. In his career he won 41 out of 44 matches and 32 by knock Out. He declared his retirement in 2004.

You obviously don't know very much about boxing, and its history. Who ever the fool is, who arranged this list must never have heard that boxing does in fact have weight classes, and decided he is an expert after reading maybe 2 ring magazine articles.
The dismissing of trully great pound for pound champions, to substitute George Chuvalo is a joke. Now, I'm a big fan of Chuvalo, one of the most underrated fighters, but if you ask George himself, I'm sure he'd even disclude himself.

to me the hardest dision is about chooseing suger ray or ali, but i would have to choose ali because the way he moved for a 212 pound, 6'3' man was amazing and to stastain the kind of punches that were being thrown at him, he had some of the heavyiest hitters of all time like joe frazier pounding in to him and how fast he was, how he could size you up and know when he is going to knock you down and pridicted what you were going to throw. suger ray was an amazing boxer to, some people say that you need to be a better boxer in the leighter divions because there are not as many knock outs and thats why suger ray was so good and his fight record was amazing but ali was more of an altlete. ali was in a legue of his own and we all know that fighters like joe frazier or sunny liston were a joke but at times he made them a joke it was unfair thats why he is better.

There is as close as you can get in the world of boxing to unanimous agreement on this subject. The vast majority of boxing champions, as well as the writers and pundits agree that Sugar Ray Robinson was the greatest fighter that ever lived. Ali is most people's pick for #2.

Okay, well if you guys all want "statistics" let me mind you that Sugar Ray Robinson "at the time he lost his first fight to [Jake] Lamotta in 1943 to 1951... he went UNDEFEATED in 93 professional fights." And not to mention he was undefeated in 40 fights before his first loss to Lamotta. So what's that record? That's over a 100 fights and only one loss by 1951. Marciano is magnificent but do not forget the AMOUNT of fights these each fighter has fought in his day before claiming one's superiority in "statistics." Each fighter mentioned has indeed fought with other champions so don't say one man fought all the greats and justify his superiority over the other with such a general argument. I'm not going to judge whose the best but from all the actual CREDIBLE sources, I've regularly heard Robinson as being the greatest.
For anyone who says Tyson was the best, LEAVE NOW AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH. I loved Tyson and wanted so hard to believe he could have been the greatest in his "prime." But as years went by and I learned more and more about boxing I've learned that for one, he was a king... in one of the worst eras of boxing. Also, every noteworthy fighter has also faced some serious troubles (like, hmmm ALI, HOLYFIELD, SUGAR RAY ROBINSON - WAYYY past his prime, FOREMAN AT 43, etc...) in their lifetime as well, including long periods of rehabilitation away from boxing, but you know what? They were still able to come back and WIN - Tyson... not so much. I love Tyson and still regard him as a possible candidate for a list of 100 greatest boxers, but never would I consider him the greatest nor would any REAL EXPERT (not myself) say he was so. He was amazing, in a bad era. He was incredible but I could see many alternate boxers with much more heart and very differing counter-styles that could've possibly dominated Tyson, even at his "prime". Whilst I respect all opinions here - except the ones that put Tyson above Ali. There is simple fact that should put Ali at the top of every list, and it is this- he would have beaten every other fighter in the everyones list. Weights are only there to give the little guys a chance. When brought down to its basics boxing is about who would win in a punch up and Ali is clearly the man who would, and did, win.
Tyson and Marciano had everything, against the bums and has beens they beat. Rocky never fought anyone of note and every time Tyson did, he got beat. Sure they were explosive and very entertaining but, like Dempsey (and Hatton), against a skilled opponent they'd be well short of the required standard.

Mike Tyson.....in the prime of his career would have beat any of the listed boxers. A three year setback and an upset loss to buster douglas ended his career. Everyone will have some discrepancy with the top ten, but if you know boxing there is only a handful to really argue about. There already a few good lists on here so i am not going to display mine but what i am going to do is talk a little bit about some of the ridiculous stuff on here.
I think I saw Roy Jones and Felix trinidad on a few lists. What in gods name were you people shmokin to be that far detached from reality (cuz i want some). Was that Mike Tyson i saw on the tops of some of these? I think who ever listed this was possibly swayed by the extensive amount of years spent living in their parents basement playing Punch Out on their NES. I know, I know he is impossible to beat at the end of the game - but im sorry to break it you, your name is not max and last time I checked we are living in a three dimensional world. You have to pick ten, yes ten of the greatest fighters of all-time (that means forever, not just your lifetime) and you write something like evander holyfield or any of the above listed, i think you'll do yourself and all of us a favor if you leave your boxing comments to yourself and re-evaluate your thoughts on the subject.
Let me preface this by stating that I know nothing about boxing other than having an appreciation for it over the years and being able to remember when heavyweight fights used to be broadcast for free on ABC's Wide World of Sports. That being said, I would put Ali at the top of the list, not only for his boxing prowess but for the way he was able to electrify and galvanize the boxing (and rest of the) world. There are probably better pure boxers than him, though I really can't say because my knowledge is limited and most of my experience watching Ali was towards the end of his career when "rope a dope" seemed to be his main tactic.
I'm not sure where Tyson should be on the list, but all I can say is this: There has *never* been a boxer more intimidating and imposing as Tyson was when he was in his prime. I can remember watching many of his earlier fights and actually worrying that he was going to kill his opponent. He was so menacing and vicious that you could even see the fear in his opponents' eyes. Shame about his voice though... ;)
Now I am not one to condone violence, and I hate all that "ultimate fighting" stuff, but I have to admit there was something intoxicating about seeing someone that is so menacing, so powerful, and so (seemingly) unstoppable. I'm not sure what it is about human nature that causes us to desire and laud a champion that is so superior than the rest of the field. We all like a good, competitive battle where the outcome is unknown, but if we're really honest with ourselves, there is a large part of us that would rather see someone who is so dominating that they lay waste to everyone and everything in their path. Tyson was that sort of fighter.
It is a shame that he was never able to overcome his "hoodlum" roots, and perhaps if D'Amato had been around longer, Tyson's professional accomplishments would indisputably be at the top of everyone's list. Alas, that is not the case, and his legacy will probably be dominated by references to his troubles in and out of the ring. The thing I find ironic though, is that we want our heroes to be vicious killers in the ring, but sensitive, upstanding citizen's outside of it. The very qualities that made Tyson a great boxing champion were also the things that brought about his downfall.
Tyson may not be worthy of being placed in the pantheon of boxing greats based on his accomplishments, but there was no-one that ever epitomized as much as him the traits and qualities that we all secretly desire in a champion. For those reasons, after Ali, I would put Tyson at the top of my list.
I'm not sure about the others, but Tyson is the best. In his prime no one could touch him, it's a shame that he had problems and left his first trainer

I think Tyson being on here is BULLSHIT. He was great during his prime but you know what gets you on this top 10? The fact that you PROVED you were great by beating the top contenders gets you there. I'm sorry but Tyson wasn't in a good period to judge and the few highlight fights he had, he lost... and badly, I might add. Don't give me that bull that he wasn't in the best age or condition to fight those fights; Buster Douglas fought Tyson during Mike's reign, Holyfield suffered huge medical repercussions with his bouts with Bowe (YEARS before) and Moorer, and well, and they both managed to scrape the floor with Tyson's head. And Lennox Lewis just outclassed the man in every way. what about Julio Cesar Chavez? 108-6-2 87ko has defended his tittle more than any of these guys 27 and fought much much tougher apponents. 6 world tittles in 3 divisions and lost most of his fights at an older age. 2 to De la Hoya. Rocky was beating up on people who were no-bodies and past there prime. Ray Robinson fought guys who were smaller than him because they didnt have alot of weight classes back then. So it was pretty easy to ko guys who were smaller than him
Julio Cesar Chavez is the best, he won 101 fights, lost 6 cause of his age. Ali is over rated and Rocky did'nt even reach half of chavez's record, CHAVEZ comes in at number 1 END of disscusion

In most types of one on one combat, whether it be boxing, wrestling, etc., being able to dominate someone below your level is much different than competing against someone on your own level. From first hand experience, and discussing this with other athletes, being able to get past the fact that someone is a bully often times makes a huge difference.
Tyson most likely was the most intimidating boxer of all time, the most powerful, and the best bully we've ever seen. He dominated people below his level, but he never beat any of the real big names of his era, save for Michael Spinks (who is virtually forgotten about today).
Tyson never once came from behind to win a match after he was hurt and, obviously, was losing.
The right shot from Tyson in his prime could knock out anybody, and the nature of the sport is that anyone, at any given time, has a chance to score a win. You shouldn't rule out the possibility of Tyson beating guys like Ali, Frazier, Foreman, etc., but I wouldn't see Tyson as being the favorite to beat any of the top heavyweights of all time in their prime.

i grew up watching mike tyson and he was very dominant in his era, but his era sucked!! he faught bums. ali would have beat the living shit out of tyson. ali moved like a midleweight and punched like a heavyweight. he could go into any time period and be just as dominant as he was in his own, that easily couldn't be said about tyson, its just my opinion but i think that forman, marciano, fraizer, and and ali would all knock tyson's ass out before the 6th round. i think that ali is the best heavyweight ever and he would have stayed undefeated for at least 5 more years if he wouldn't have been banned for 3 years
This topic is one that cannot be actually proven. Just as any other sport, the game, as well as the players, have evolved greatly! I agree with most of the comments that Ali IS NOT the greatest, by any stretch! He was a great boxer, but not the greatest. Sure he was "fast". But not as fast as Tyson, and NO WHERE NEAR as powerful! Tyson could be considered, but he fell off the deep end after Don King, Prison, and Robin Givens. I am a boxer, myself, and I see a boxing fight as a science, or a chess match. Honestly, I am probably most impressed with the overall skills of Roy Jones Jr. As a boxer, you're trained not to fear anyone! EVER! Maybe not now, because they are past their prime, but I would probably never even consider boxing either Tyson or Jones, in their prime.
This list is very inaccurate it is all based around stats and very little boxing information. There is a lot of great boxers missing from the list.
1.Sugar Ray Robinson- The perfect boxer? So fast with heaps of power to compliment and a very skillful defence. Was fast on his feet had the stamina and endurance of a bull would never give up and would keep going at the opponent with fast flurrys of punches. A true boxing legend
2.Muhammad Ali- Taking into account Ali was a 6'3 natural born heavyweight the guy danced around the ring like a welterweight. Had immense speed and knockout power, such a slick boxer with a gifted smart mind. Ali's speed, footwork and smartness was to much for his concrete feet opponents. An heavyweight legend who out boxed some of the worlds best.
3.Joe Louis- A truely gifted natural boxer. Such a powerful puncher with quickness to go along with it. Joe could put combinations together like nobody else, he had pinpoint precision punches and would open up his opponents defense with so much ease. A humble boxer who really loved the sport.
4.Willie Pep- Trying to hit Willie Pep was like trying to hit lighting his ring craft, cleverness and gifted footwork made Willie one of the most trickiest boxers to fight. Willie won a round without throwing a single punch by using his clever feints and movement. Willie's fast jab was an amazing punch which played such an important role in Willie's style of fighting. One of the greatest featherweight's of all time.
5.Harry Greb- A small stocky fighter who was very energetic, fast and strong. Was one of the best ever inside fighters Harry would keep going and going with flurry's of punches wearing his opponent down with his immense work rate. He was a rough tough fighter and although he was small he was fearless and would tangle with any opponent no matter how big or small. One of the greatest ever middleweight's.
6.Henry Armstrong- A very high pressure fighter who would keep fighting non-stop. Would come out from the start and keep throwing punches till the end. Had dynamite bang in his punches and would make it his goal to knock his opponent out.
7.Jack Dempsey- A two fist brawler who would come out bobbing and weaving and throwing knockout punches. Dempsey would keep stalking the man in front of him throwing off powerful punches. An unrelentless warrior!
8.Sugar Ray Leonard- A greasy fast boxer who had bags of talent. Would dance around the ring like a skater on ice. Would put toghether devasting combos with his lighting speed. His boxing was as "sweet" as sugar and always please the crowd.
9.Rocky Marciano- Not the most talented boxer but relied on his punishing hayemakers which would undoubtedly knock any opponent out. Had so much power and was hard as nails, Rocky could take most punches on the chin and shake it off like it was nothing. The only retired undeafeated heavyweight ever.
10.Floyd Mayweather- One of the most skilled boxers of this day and age. Was gifted with lighting speed and his natural reflexes gives him a superior defense where openings cannot be found. His natural timing makes him a worlds great counter-puncher who lands devasting combonations at the sight of an opening. The current pound4pound king who is a boxing genius.
