Change in Tongue and Taste is Very good Improvement in Weight Loss Efforts

Today, in lunch, I ate rooti (bread) from brown flour. I ate also some shrimp and onion curry which contained some spice. Then, two mangoes were consumed. Anyway, I did not mind the spice because I was excited with the brown flour roti. What happened is that this time, I did not feel bad taste about it. I remember that only 8 months ago, this brown flour seemed distasteful to my tongue and I could eat it. Today, I felt natural and comfortable about it. This is a huge improvement for me. Even in the last few days, I have been taking brown rice and it is now totally ok for me.
Another improvement in me is that now I can eat one KG of mango in a day happily. These are indeed huge changes in me and I hope that I can from now continue eating brown flour or brown rice every day. Also, I can take fruit everyday. Then next part is to get habituated to fruits and salad. Then vegetables and leafy vegetables which seem to be some tough for me. In the last part is soup. Then at the most extreme is boiled food which I still cannot imagine that I will be able to eat regularly.
Of course, I really cannot imagine to take boiled meat or fish someday. It is impossible for me. However, I wish to get used to boiled vegetables and leafy vegetables without any spice or even oil if I can. The experience of brown flour, brown rice and mango has made me hopeful about other fruits, vegetables, leafy vegetables and boiled vegetables without spice and oil.
It is still unbelievable for me. Even until last night, I was not hopeful and I became some sad but this morning has brought a positive change in my body and mind. Today, I just measured my weight twice I am 104 KG.
Now, the best thing is that I am not that much concerned about weight loss but I am trying for a permanent change in my eating habit. So, the next challenge is eating salad daily. Problem is that I just like one kind of salad- cucumber, tomato, onion and chili or cucumber, onion, chili and lemon. Except them I do not like any other kind of salad. I hope that I can find some other good salad recipes and eat them.
So, at this moment, my main concern is to find some salads that are without spice but tasty enough for me.
Today, I bought a good chair for myself. So, I find more comfort when typing in front of my PC. This is a good thing for myself. Thus, now, I am taking all the right decisions that are helpful for my health.

Omitting Spice from Food is very Difficult

Just like yesterday, I again today almost omitted spice from my food. I ate loaf, cheese, lentil chop and apple and mango. Today, I did a very good thing. I ate exactly one kilogram of ripe mango. It was very tasty and it made me some full too. This is something I need to do from now: eat a lot of fruits and salad. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of soup. Otherwise, I would eat a lot of soup too.
What is needed is permanent change of eating habit. I have now totally omitted meat and in the last 2 days, I don’t have any desire to eat meat. However, in normal times, I eat meat, Biriyani and fast food that contain a lot of meat. Again today, I just measured my weight once and it was some less than 104 KG. Tomorrow is the last day of June and thus, 6 months of 2010 is gone. I started 2010 with 100 KG and in the last 6 months, my weight increased 5 KG and I am finishing June 2010 in 104 KG.
I have understood that the only way out of overweight problem is permanent change in eating habit. Really it is not easy.

A Day without Spice in Food

Today, I ate mainly apple, mango, banana, loaf, cheese and some lentil chop. There was some spice and oil in lentil chop but the other things were totally free of spice. As a result, it has brought some good feeling in my body. It shows that eating too much spice is bad. Unfortunately, I am born in a country where spice means life. Even I cannot think of life without spice. Today, I did one good thing. I did not try to check my weight all the time. I just checked it one time and it was 104 KG when I woke up.
Now, I really believe that weight loss effort is a difficult thing but the focus should not be on losing weight. Instead, the focus should be on changing eating habit and life style. My main enemy is now sleeping habit. I really wish that I could to go sleep within 12 or 1 AM and wake up by 9 AM. For almost one year, I have no physical activity. This is something I have to change as soon as possible. Today, I could not go out to walk because I felt no energy. Tomorrow, I guess I cannot walk either. However, I plan to start walking from Friday.
Fortunately, I have the best wife who is very supportive. Her support surely brings a lot of happiness and eagerness in my heart to try. This time, I am going to really try my best.
Now, I realize that weight loss is perhaps more of a mental process. It needs all the use of your will power and self discipline.
I just discovered that I need a hobby and the best hobby for me is reading and writing. However, I used to walk a lot and now, I need to do it. I used walk everyday when I was young and I always enjoyed walking. It is time, I again do it a lot.

The Worst part of Weight Loss Effort is to become Obsessed with Decreasing Weight

I feel no shame to announce that I have failed in decreasing weight in the last 6 months. For the record, 6 months ago, on 18 December 2010, I reached to 98 KG and then after trying for nearly 9 weeks. That time, I lost 12 KG in 9 weeks. Unfortunately, in 6 months, I have just increased 7 KG.
Today, I have taken a very important decision that I will change my life style and totally try for my health. It is operation health only. I have learnt one valuable thing from my mistake of last time. I was too much obsessed with losing weight. As long as I was losing weight, it was great but then came two problems. Losing weight became very difficult because it was a very cold winter. I had mental stress. I did not leave my works. So, I started to eat more food and lost my way. I also did not try for any exercise either. These two mistakes cost me very dearly.
Now, my focus is not losing weight but to make permanent change on eating habit and doing exercise. There is nothing else to do but to just focus on improving my health. I have reached to a condition that has two ways only: a. continue the current unhealthy and dangerous way and get sick in the worst way and either fall in bed for life or die and early death or b. try to change my eating habit, stressful life style and physical inactivity and live a long and healthy life.
So, if you are trying to lose weight then do not become obsess about each kilogram or pound. Instead, try to make permanent change or improvement for about eating and doing exercise.
Now, the big question comes is how to change my eating habit. I am very bad when it comes to eating vegetable or even fruit. I can hardly eat anything that is raw or boiled. Tomorrow, I will try to eat raw and boil only food items.
What are the things I can eat? Apple, Mango, Grapes, Tomato, Onion and Chili salad with some salt, Jambul  with chili and salt, Jambura, Nuts, banana, Brown Rice, Green Tea instead of Black tea with milk, Dal is ok because it is minimum spice or oil.
Now, it is 6 AM and a new day has already started. The bad part is that I will have trouble with sleeping and then be forced to drink tea. This time, I must change and just change. Green Tea is good for change.

Asia Cup 2010: Pakistan Squad Players List

A 15-man squad was named by the Pakistan selectors for the upcoming Asia Cup 2010 in Sri Lanka that will start from June 15. Pakistan squad looks balance with the combination of new and experienced players. Here, I have given the list of players’ name:

Pakistan squad for Asia Cup 2010: Shahid Afridi (capt), Salman Butt (vice capt), Imran Farhat, Shahzaib Hasan, Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq, Shoaib Malik, Umar Amin, Kamran Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Akhtar, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman.

Both Shoaib Akhtar and Shoaib Malik are considered as one of the unexpected inclusions in the squad. They made their place in the national side after going through a fitness test at National Cricket Academy that was monitored by the PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt, Chief Selector Mohsin Khan, Captain Shahid Afridi and Head Coach Waqar Younis.

Shoaib Akhtar, who is also known as Rawalpindi Express, had to bowl 12 overs to proof his fitness in the warm weather of Lahore. A medical report declared him fit and confirmed that he can play in the tournament. On the other hand, Shoaib Malik involved his name into the squad after the appellate judge lifted his ban last week.

The inclusion of the controversial fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, has become a matter of great joy for cricket fans. He will cheer his fans once again showing his bowling speed. Thirty-four-year-old Akhtar made his return after a year of break. He last played for Pakistan in May 2009 against Australia until he was suffering from knee injury.

Injuries and controversies made his 13-year cricket career full of uncertain. He earned his position after showing good performance in the recently concluded domestic ODI tournament. He underwent surgery to decrease his weight. Now, Shoaib Akhtar is healthy and he is likely to be an important part of Sri Lanka tour.

It is also reported that Shoaib Akhtar may be excluded from the squad because of his calf injury. He was seen sporting a bandage on his left calf during a training camp. It also raised questions over his fitness. According to a team sources, Akhtar used the bandage to avoid any injury before taking part in the four-nation ODI tournament.

Selectors always feel worried about him as he has the worst history of being affected by injuries. That is why, he is called injury prone fast bowler. This rumor could not affect his career as Shoaib Akhtar got favor from captain, Shahid Afridi, who scolded the reporters for this fake report. It is not still sure if Shoaib Akhtar is fully fit. This matter will be cleared when Pakistan will start their campaign.

Former Pakistan captain, Shoaib Malik, made his place in the national side after a one-man tribunal lifted his one year ban and halved his fines to one million rupees. He also successfully passed the fitness test. He was one of the seven players to be punished by the Pakistan Cricket Board. PCB banned him for one year and fined two million rupees (24,000 dollars) after he was found guilty for breaching players’ code of conduct and finished the Australia tour without any victory.

This upcoming ODI tournament is going to be an important one for newly married Shoaib Malik, who married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza in April.

All rounder, Shahid Afridi, was named captain for all three formats of cricket after a long debacle. He will not only lead Pakistan cricket team in Asia Cup but also in England tour where the touring side will face Australia and host England. Salman Butt was named as his deputy.

Shahid Afridi was also named captain for ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2010 that took place in West Indies. His captaincy in the recently concluded T20 World Cup was not up to the mark as Pakistan could not defend the title for the second time. Even he was given the toughest job when PCB is testing players for captaincy.

The injury of the inform bowler, Umar Gul, has come as a great shock. His shoulder injury forced the selectors not to include his name. He has been sidelined with a shoulder injury for the last two months. Due to his injury, he could not represent his country in the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies last month.

After falling awkwardly, Gul injured his right shoulder during a training camp for the Twenty20 World Cup and could not play the tournament. Pakistan also suffered for his absence. He was the highest wicket taker in the T20 World Cup 2009.

Some new players have been included in the squad. Twenty-one-year-old left-handed batsman, Umar Amin, is one of the uncapped players. He is likely to make his debut in this tournament. He and Asad Shafiq have impressive performance in domestic cricket that helped them to get their place in the team.

Twenty-year-old Shahzaib Hasan got chance to make his debut in the shortest version of cricket in the second T20 World Cup in England last year. He is yet to play an ODI match. May be, this upcoming tournament will give him a chance to make his debut in a 50-over format.

Former Pakistan captain, Younis Khan, was included in the preliminary squad, but later his name was axed from the final squad. He was banned for an indefinite period over infighting during the Australia tour. PCB imposed the ban on him in March. However, his ban was lifted recently and made him available for future tour.

Another player who was banned for an indefinite period was Mohammad Yousuf. He has taken retirement to show protest against the punishment. Afridi will hope that Yousuf will come out of retirement and join Pakistan cricket team as he is the most dependable middle order batsman. His inclusion will make strong batting line up.

Pakistan cricket team will start their campaign against the defending champion Sri Lanka on June 15. After that, they will face their arch-rival India on June 19. Their last match will be played against Bangladesh on June 21.

Asia Cup 2010: India Squad Players List

Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan have been excluded from the 15-man squad that Indian selectors announced for the upcoming Asia Cup in Sri Lanka from June 15 to 24.

Indian squad for Asia Cup: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Pragyan Ojha, Ashok Dinda, R. Ashwin, Saurabh Tiwary.

India’s most prolific batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, has been omitted from the squad that will play against Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the four-nation Asia Cup.

He wanted a break to spend time with his family members and that is why he asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) not to consider him for the ODI tournament. His omission from the ODI squad that will tour Sri Lanka was confirmed by the board secretary, N. Srinivasan. It will put Indian cricket team under huge pressure. No doubt, selectors will have to find a best replacement in stead of him, but there will be no one who can replace the veteran player.

Before the team was announced, news came out that Sachin Tendulkar might skip the event, but the selectors were not serious in their work. What they could do is that they might have convinced the batsman. However, they didn’t do it. Sachin Tendulkar’s refusal to tour to Sri Lanka has come as a great shock. Even it was more shocking then his decision not to represent India in Twenty20 internationals.

It has been a long time that he has not played for India. On 24th February 2010, he played his last ODI match against South Africa at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium where he made a record of unbeaten double century and became the only player to hold such a record in the history of ODI cricket.

The inclusion of regular captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Virender Sehwag will increase the power of Indian cricket team. Virender Sehwag could not play the recently concluded Twenty20 World Cup in West Indies due to his shoulder injury that he sustained during third edition of IPL. Inclusion of Virender Sehwag will boost the confidence of the team. He will make open along with Gautam Gambhir.

Cricket fans will be happy for the return of Mahendra Singh Dhoni as captain. He will lead the Indian cricket team in this tournament. He has not been in the good form and has been struggling to get back his previous form. Though Dhoni has been criticized for his poor captaincy during the Twenty20 World Cup 2010, he is still considered as one of the best captains India ever had. It is expected that MS Dhoni will lead India successfully and bring another trophy for country.

The players who were rested for the tri-series in Zimbabwe have been included in the squad. Selectors have also included some players who are not regular cricketers but considered better performers. As the players were rested, the team will come out with a bunch of strong and power players.

Gautam Gambhir is one of the players who were rested for the tri-series in Zimbabwe. Gambhir is now in good form. His opening partnership with the unstoppable Virender Sehwag will help India to get the winning streak.

Harbhajan Singh is expected to make his return with his spin magic. He is passionately waiting to use his spin magic against the opponent teams in the upcoming Asia Cup. He is the only spinner who has the experience to play more matches for Indian team.

Pace trio of Zaheer Khan, Praveen Kumar and Ashish Nehra will be the main bowling power for India. They will try hard to prove their opponents that they still have some power and strength to show.

Despite being an important figure in the ODI format of cricket game, Yuvraj Singh, failed to make his place in the ODI tour. The dropping of Yuvraj Singh was not unexpected as his performances in recent months were not satisfactory. Yuvraj Singh got involved in a brawl in a West Indian pub and it came as an extra addition for the reason of his exclusion from the squad. Now, selectors will replace Yuvraj Singh by a suitable player who can play like him with the bat and ball.

Yuvraj Singh played five ODI matches this year and scored 96 runs where 74 of them coming in one match against Sri Lanka in Dhaka.

Yusuf Pathan was one of the experienced players who traveled Zimbabwe to play the tri-nation series. His performance was not good either. He could not play an important role for his team when his service was needed.

Twenty-year-old player, Saurabh Tiwary, is the only uncapped player who is likely to make his debut in this forthcoming tournament. He plays for Mumbai Indians. His impressive effort for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League forced the selectors to call him in the main squad.

The second-string Indian squad has been formed by the players who performed well in IPL 3. Despite their good performance in IPL, they could not lead India to a victory. It would be better if the selectors do not select anyone with poor performance in domestic cricket.

Some players who were included in the second-string Indian squad could make their place despite showing poor performance. Selectors kept faith on them and it is also expected that they will be the big asset for team India.

Suresh Raina led the second-string Indian squad in the recently concluded tri-series in Zimbabwe and failed to get success as India could not play in the final match. India lost twice against host team, Zimbabwe, and once against Sri Lanka. Their disappointing performance dropped India from number two position to third in the ICC ODI team ranking.

According to the chairman of Indian selectors, Kris Srikkanth, a lot of importance was given to the players’ fitness. In his statement, it has been cleared that both fitness and fielding are very important.

Asia Cup will be a big challenge for Indian cricket team as their performance in the Twenty20 World Cup was not good. They got eliminated from the second round. This upcoming tournament will give them a chance to prove that they are still a strong team in any format of cricket.

Music Review of Raavan Hindi Movie

Veteran filmmaker, Mani Ratnam, written and directed the upcoming bilingual film Raavan (in Tamil version it is titled Raavanan) is all set to make its worldwide release on June 18, 2010. Mani Ratnam congratulated Gulzar and said he is very proud for the music. Gulzar said that he has never received such a heartwarming endorsement of his 47-years of career. It was the first thank you letter that drove Gulzar to accept the invitation from Ratnam to attend a screening of the film. He flew to Chennai to see the closing credits and felt that AR Rahman's song was too good to be released without lyrics. He and Mani were speechless. At that time, the extra song came about. What he wrote as an additional number for Raavan, Ab iss shareer ke sirey khol dey/Aur goongi aatma ko bol dey.

Mani Ratnam’s Trilingual Film Raavan will be released worldwide on 18th June 2010

The much awaited film of the year, Raavan, is knocking at the door. Fans around the world have already started counting down the time when it will be released.

Mani Ratnam’s Raavan is a tri-lingual film as it has been simultaneously made in Tamil as Raavanan and at the same time, it would also be dubbed in Telugu as Villain.

Madras Talkies and BIG Cinemas have got the distribution right of the Hindi version. On the other hand, Reliance Big Pictures will distribute the Tamil version. Though it has been made in three different languages, it is slated to be released on June 18, 2010.

There is no big difference between the versions except the casts. In Raavan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram plays the lead roles while Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Priyamani plays the key supporting roles.

Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of Beera who can be compared with Raavan, the demon King of Lanka. Aishwarya Rai plays the role of Ragini, whose character is as similar as Seeta of Ramayana. Vikram plays the character of police officer Dev, whose character can be compared with Shree Ram.

In Tamil version, Vikram plays the role of Veera. Aishwarya Rai will be seen doing the same character what she does in Hindi version. However, Prithviraj Sukumaran replaces Vikram for the role of police officer Dev.

Academy Award winner, AR Rahman, composed the music and the soundtrack in both versions. Audio of the film was launched on 24 April 2010 by T-Series.

It is the most ambitious project for filmmaker and writer, Mani Ratnam. He has got the credit for the screen play. He asks the question in his directorial note-

Ten heads, Ten minds, A hundred voices- One Man. Did such a man ever exist…? Was he just a myth…or a metaphor…?

Are Ten Heads better than one…?

Perhaps it is going to be the big hit after the success of Guru that stars star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. It will hit 2000 screens worldwide.

Abhishek Bachchan is a big fan of Vikram

The upcoming Hindi film, Raavan, is all set to make its release with Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram in the main roles. Filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s bilingual film has brought the two male actors; Abhishek Bachchan and Vikram, at the centre of attraction.

However, before the start of Raavan both actors have shared a good relationship. Vikram became surprised when he heard that Abhishek is a big fan of him during the Boys audio release function.

Abhishek also said that he has been in touch with Vikram since then. It has also been revealed that he had watched Vikram’s Dhool 17 times as Vikram’s acting in that film impressed him. Abhishek also likes Vikram-starrer Pithamagan.

Perhaps Abhishek Bachchan is happy as he has shared the screen space with Vikram in the Hindi version of Raavan that will be released on June 18, 2010.

It will be interesting to see if their screen space in Raavan is liked by the audience.

Work, Weight Loss Efforts and Hope

It was always the main challenge: how to find a balance between career and weight loss efforts. It is a dilemma that millions of people face each day around the world. Just think of the simple matter: when you have to go out, the options for eating healthy foods are very limited. However, there are fast food shops everywhere and you can easily eat a burgher and a glass of Coke. I could not become successful in weight loss efforts mainly for this problem.
One of the best blessings of blogging is that I stay home most of the time. However, my problem is that I work in a field that is full of challenges and competition. In any topic, you are fighting against hundreds of websites and blogs. So, I had to work all the time and eat just junk food items. I got addicted to Coke, coffee, chips, mutton, fast food etc. All are bad for health- I know it very well but when I am working very hard-pushing myself to do the impossible things then junk foods become a source of relief from the pressure and stress.
Fortunately, my main blog, South Asia Blog is now jumping in leaps and bounds and I do not need to worry. Even for this blog (Techtainment), I have at last realized that what strategy should I follow? So, I do not need to push myself on a daily basis. Rather, I can relax a lot and make a plan and just work according to the plan. This is the best blessing from God in my life.
So, from tomorrow, I hope to start a third or fourth round of weight loss efforts. This time, I can focus on my health and diet more. So, I am hopeful.

Should Cesc Fàbregas remain captain in Arsenal?

The future of Cesc Fàbregas looks uncertain everyday. Everyday there is new news about his future. And it did not clear what will happen at the start of the next season. He is the captain of Arsenal football team and there are some doubts about some fans whether he should remain as the captain against this kind of intense media speculation.

Right now, there is no doubt that Cesc Fàbregas is the top player of the club and he gets the highest amount of salary. So, it was a very wise decision of Arsene Wenger to make him captain last season. He also returned the club and the coach the best way about trusting such a young person like him for the role of captaincy. Now, with his saying becoming uncertain, perhaps it is time for Arsene Wenger to select a new captain.

There is also an opposite view. Some fans think that if Wenger now comes up with an announcement of appointing a new captain then it may upset Fàbregas then he would not be willing to stay at London for any reason.

Right now, most football fans in the world including England are very busy with World Cup. Perhaps Wenger should address this matter after the end of the world cup football.

Joe Cole is heading for Arsenal

Several clubs now want to get the signature of Joe Cole for the upcoming England Premier League season. Manchester City and Arsenal are considered to be the front runners but Tottenham Hotspur is also interested. Joe Cole is a very good player and he is just 28 years old.

His contract is going to be finished with Chelsea very soon and he is a very attractive player for the new season for any club because he will be available on free transfer. This means that the club who will get him will not have to spend multimillion pounds for his service. They will just need to pay a good salary every week.

There is media reports that Joe Cole has already agreed to play for Arsenal. In a last few days, conflicting reports have come in the media about this matter. According to a report of an England daily newspaper, Joe Cole is willing to stay in London. This means that he will most like to join Arsenal.

There is intense media speculation that Fabregas might leave Arsenal and then the London based club will have a good replacement for Fabregas. It should be mentioned here that Joe Cole is a player of England national football team in World Cup 2010.

India has been put at No. 3 in the ICC ODI Team Ranking

Indian cricket team has been dropped one spot to third in the ICC ODI team ranking.

The reason of going down is India’s shocking performance and elimination from the tri-nation ODI series in Zimbabwe.

Sri Lankan cricket team has ensured India’s elimination after defeating them by 6 wickets on June 5. Now, Indian cricket team is one point behind South Africa who replaced them at No. 2 position with 119 points in the point table.

Because of their shocking defeat against Sri Lanka, India has been put in the third place with 118 ratings points.

India lost twice to host team, Zimbabwe, and failed to make it to the final following their disappointing performance against Sri Lanka on Saturday.

India started the tour series with second spot in the ICC rankings, but they fall behind South Africa due to the result of the three losses in Zimbabwe. If India could manage a victory over Sri Lanka in Harare then they could hold their previous ranking with 120 points.

Indian cricket team is still No. 1 in the ICC Test team ranking. Cricket fans are worried about thinking that India may lost their dominance in Test ranking to.

The Tug of War Between Spain and England Over Cesc Fabregas

The battle is actually between two clubs not two nations. Arsenal is one of the top four clubs of England. If we look at the records of English Premier League for the last 21 years then we have to say that it is the second best team after Manchester United in EPL. On the other hand, Barcelona is one of the top two clubs in Spanish football. Some years ago, they had a small boy called Cesc Fabregas in their youth team. They had many bright and talented players and most people there did not care for this boy much.
Arsenal’s coach Arsenge Wenger realized the potential of this 16 years old boy and brought him to London. Fabregas got all the opportunities and became a legend just at the age of 22. He was even given captaincy at such a young age. He is loved and admired in London.
The Barcelona people still cannot forget him and they feel that Arsenal took advantage on them. So, now they are crazy to get back Cesc Fabregas.
I wrote an interesting news in South Asia Blog about it: Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal and Barcelona: Who wants What?
If you have time then don’t forget to read it.

Raavan Hindi movie everything you need to know

The upcoming Hindi film Raavan has become the much anticipated film of this year. It cats leading Bollywood stars including Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram in the lead roles. However, supporting roles were performed by Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Priyamani.

Raavan tells the story of a conflict between good and evil, between Dev and Beera, between Ram and Raavan.

Cast and Crew:

Abhishek Bachchan- Beera Munda (Raavan)

Aishwarya Rai- Ragini sharma (Seeta)

Vikram Kennedy- Dev Pratap Sharma (shreeRam)

Govinda- Sanjeevani Kumar (Hanumaan)

Ravi Kishan- Siddrath

Priyamani- Serena Munda

Nikhil Dwivedi- laxmana pratap sharma brother

Ashish Vidyarthi

In the Tamil version, only few characters have been changed. The role of Raavan was played by Vikram. Prithviraj plays the character of Dev Prasad.

Music:

Academy Award winner, A. R. Rahman, is the main attraction of the film as the music score and soundtrack of the film has been composed by him. Gulzar has written the lyrics. The Hindi version of Raavan has featured 6 songs and an additional song that A. R. Rahman performed at the audio launch. T-Series has released the audio on April 24, 2010.

Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) restricted Raavan to release in Mysore:

Big Cinemas has got the distribution right for the Hindi version of Raavan film. As per rules, this company will distribute the film as many as possible. They demanded the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) to allow the film to be released at 48 theatres. Due to the existing policy of allowing non-Kannada films, it has been restricted by KFCC and will be released in only 24 theatres in one of the three distribution areas of Karnataka.

Mr. Vasant Kumar Patil is the President of KFCC. To protect the interest of local Kannada films, he has refused to accept the request from the Big Cinemas. He said,

"A decision has been taken to follow the existing policy of allowing non-Kannada films in a stipulated number of theatres,"

Old Mysore is located in the southern part of the state where the decision will be applied. Except it, the decision will not be imposed on the other distribution areas.

Big Cinemas is not happy with such kind of restriction as they thought that it will be released in more than 48 theatres as Raavan and its Tamil version have been made at a huge cost with different artists in the lead role.

However, KFCC has nothing to do except allowing the flick to be released in Mysore region only across twenty-four region theatres on June 18.

Raavan is a bilingual film as it has been made in two different languages of Hindi and Tamil. Now, these two versions are supposed to be released at the same time on June 18, 2010.

Abhishek Bachchan has got new hairstyle for Raavan:

Abhishek Bachchan’s new look was revealed in his upcoming movie Raavan. He was given new hairstyle for the character before start shooting the film at Kerala locations. There wasn’t any stylist but director, Mani Ratnam, himself who has given him this hairstyle. His hairstyle was named as ‘Beera’ as his character name in this film was Beera Munda.

This hairstyle has come as a result of a long-stand promise that Abhishek Bachchan gave Mani Ratnam during the shooting of Yuva.

Mani Ratnam wanted Abhishek Bachchan to cut his hair for a short crop for his character Lallan Singh in Yuva, but he has not agreed to cut his hair thinking about how it would look on his face and at the same time, he was worried whether his new hairstyle would affect the other project he was working on.

He kept his own hairstyle with a promise that one day he will allow Mani to cut his hair. The day came during the shooting of Raavan. Before start filming at the set of Kerala on the first day Raavan, Mani Ratnam cropped his hair.

He spends a lot of time dealing the look for his characters. He also had to decrease weight for Raavan.

Rensil D'Silva is not the writer of Raavan:

Famous script writer, Rensil D'Silva, is perhaps not happy as he has not got the writing credit for Raavan film. All the credit goes to director, Mani Ratnam, and his wife, Suhasini. His name has been deleted from the credits of Raavan.

Rensil was busy with Kurbaan, which was his first directorial film. However, it was neither hit nor flop. Kurbaan did not do well, but at the same time, it was not worse in showbiz.

Rensil D'Silva was the toast of tinsel town because of his two different roles. He was directing his debut film Kurbaan for Karan Johar. At the same time, he was busy in scripting Mani Ratnam's Raavan.

His credit in the industry has reduced because of the failure of Kurbaan in the box office. Veteran director, Mani Ratnam, and his wife, Suhasini, has been credit for the screenplay, completely eradicating Rensil's contribution to the writing.

Though he wrote the script ‘at one time’, he halfheartedly said that no one took his credit away. He had to stop writing Raavan and start shooting Kurbaan. He also admitted that final screenplay was written by Mani himself.

When it told that screenplay is credited to Mani Ratnam and his wife Suhasini, Rensil D'Silva did not disagree and said that they wrote the scrip together.

However, director and writer of this film, Mani Ratnam, remained unavailable for comment.

Rensil D'Silva was given credit for writing Rang De Basanti. According to a source familiar with both Mani and Rensil D'Silva's work said, "Rang De Basanti was taken away from writer Kamlesh Pandey and given to Rensil D'Silva. So, what happened with Raavan is poetic justice."

It is not clear whether Rensil is involved in the writing of Raavan. Will Rensil take legal action for getting his writing credit?

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in a hasty relationship in Raavan:

The upcoming Hindi film, Raavan, has brought together the most successful star couple, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. They have been cast in the lead roles for the Hindi version Raavan.

Their off-screen love has never questioned. Even their on-screen love relationship is always praiseworthy. Now, fans are eagerly waiting to see their chemistry in Raavan, even if they aren’t couple in the movie.

No doubt, Raavan is an important project for Abhishek as it will turn out to be a “career defining” film for him. It could be another milestone like his previous film Guru.

Fans are accustomed to see them acting as a couple. But now, for the first time, in this film of Raavan, they will be shown in an impetuous love. Let’s see if it can attract the fans.

Abhishek was mind blowing. He plays the role of cruel, shrewd Raavan while Aishwarya acts as Sita whom he abducts and takes to jungle.

It will be interesting to see the real life couple to perform the different character where they were not portrait as couple.

Aishwarya Rai’s motherly instinct has come out in Raavan shooting:

Bollywood beauty, Aishwarya Rai, has shown her motherly instinct with a little incident during the shooting of her upcoming flick, Raavan.

Her motherly behavior has come out during the shooting for a scene in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.

In the shooting spot, she saw a child artist got drenched from head to toe and that small girl was constantly shivering from cold. She immediately managed a thick blanket to wrap up the child to provide much needed warmth.

Her maternal behavior surprised all the entire cast and crew of this film. The little girl appreciated the generosity with a silent smile. Aishwarya Rai can please her fans showing benevolence attitude.

Raavan was unveiled in Cannes:

Raavan was unveiled at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. Both the Hindi and Tamil versions will open in 58 countries. Mani Ratnam’s wife Suhasini, attended at the press conference of Raavan in Cannes and represented her husband. She was credited for script writer. She said that the film will help us to understand the grey parts that all of us have in us.

She thanked A.R. Rahman for his beautiful music. She also said that the music merged beautifully with the music. In fact, the music emphasized pictures.

Indian filmmaker, Mani Ratnam, will be honored with Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award at the 67th Venice Film Festival. The festival will start on September 1 and it will continue till September 11, 2010.

Marco Muller, Director of Venice Film Festival, gave the most important announcement before the launch of Mani’s ambitious project ‘Raavan.’ Muller has confirmed the media about the impending honor that will be bestowed upon the filmmaker later this year.
