Sri Lanka is ready to organize the IIFA 2010 Awards

Despite the South Indian film industry and some Tamil groups have called to boycott the event; the 11th International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) is ready to be organized in Sri Lanka at Colombo from June 3 to 5.

Activists are demanding to boycott the Colombo event for several weeks and there was confusion whether Sri Lanka will be withdrawn or not. However, organizers have cleared all speculation by citing that they will not change the decision of hosting event in Sri Lanka.

It is going to be the biggest event to be held in Sri Lanka. It is a grand opportunity for the Sri Lankan government to showcase their country as an ideal tourist and investment destination.

Though some big names will be missing out of the event, Sri Lankan government is going out of its way to make the event a big success.

Actors like Vivek Oberoi, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta and Ritesh Deshmukh have already arrived in Sri Lanka Tuesday. Today (Wednesday) some more Indian actors along with hundred of Indian tourists will attend in the post-war country.

The goal of IIFA is to make bridge between the neighboring countries and promote Sri Lanka in Bollywood on economic and political issues.

Amitabh Bachchan will not attend at the IIFA event despite being the brand ambassador as he has faced some criticism after reaching in India.

Now, it is the time to see if IIFA 2010 Awards gets success in Sri Lanka.
