India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2009: Preview and Live Score

If you want to get live score of India vs Australia 3rd ODI match then visit the link- India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2009 Live Online Action Updates.

For the cricket fans of these two countries, it has perhaps become a prestige issue. Australia won the first ODI and then India captured the second one yesterday very easily. So, now, all the fans are waiting for the result of the third match that is going to take place on this Saturday (31 October 2009). It is a holiday in both the countries. So, you can expect full house crowd in the stadium and millions of TV viewers will enjoy it. Good thing is that it is a day/night match. Now, more than the players the supporters are anxious about the outcome of this match. Whoever wins will take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Indian players were in superb form in the second ODI and they are hoping that they can continue it on this Saturday. Well, the main problem is that their top order batsmen are not in consistent form. They need to be in good touch in front of their home crowd if India has to win the series. Indian wicket is traditionally considered to be good for batting and Indian batsmen are among the best in the world. So, I cannot understand their problem.

For Australia, the main concern is injury. Several of their key players are missing. Even before the series started they were without Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin, Nathan Bracken and Callum Ferguson. Brett Lee and James Hopes also suffered injury after coming in India and it is not clear whether they will be able to take part in the third match or not. Tim Paine also suffered injury in the last match and Graham Manou will come in place of him. So, in the third match, perhaps we will see some players in Australian eleven whom we do not know that much.

SMG wrote:

The captain said his team's lack of prowess in bowling at the death had been exacerbated in the past week by the hamstring injury to all-rounder James Hopes, forcing other bowlers to close out the innings in the opening two matches of the series.
…………………………………………………………
With Lee no certainty to regain fitness in time for tomorrow's day-night clash at Delhi, Ponting's only options for strengthening his pace attack at the death are Doug Bollinger, who has taken wickets in only one of his three one-day internationals, and Hopes's temporary replacement, Moises Henriques, who was mauled at the death by West Indian Kieron Pollard in the recent Twenty20 Champions League tournament.

India vs Australia 3rd ODI will take place at Feroz Shah Kotla in Indian capital city Delhi. 40,000 people can watch a match here and I have already predicted earlier that it will be a full house. Anil Kumble took his historic 10 wickets in a test innings in 1999. So, you may want to deduce that it is helpful for spin bowling. May be it is but the problem is that India does not any good spin bowler at this moment. Harbhajan Singh is no longer at his best form. So, it will be some kind of worry for the team.

Australian players are praying deeply that they can get back Brett Lee in the match. He is perhaps the fastest bowler today and he can cause massive damage to any team any day. Indian batsmen are weak when it comes to facing fast bowlers. So, if Brett Lee becomes fit tomorrow in the practice session then it will boost the confidence of Australian team a lot. The form of their leading batsmen is also not consistent. So, in this department, both the two teams have almost similar problem. Well, for Australia, the retirement of Glenn McGrath has remained such a big loss that the team still could not come out of it.

The Age wrote:

Shane Watson had been emerging as a death bowler of worth but all that good work has been undone in two matches here, while Mitchell Johnson and Ben Hilfenhaus were not precise enough to stop Dhoni.
"It has been (an issue) for a long time, ever since Pigeon (McGrath) moved on, bowling at the death," Ponting said.
"We have mixed and matched trying new guys over the past few years to try and find the guys that can do that well for us.

Dhoni played a great innings in the second ODI and the fans would want something from him again. Some players are calling for him to go to number 3 position and bat. However, he seems to be satisfied with number 5 position.

Indian players and BCCI recently suffered a lot of criticism that IPL is distracting the national team players. This series is a great opportunity to prove the critics wrong.

Although the day is a Saturday, many people will look for live score in Internet and I am giving names of some of the websites:

Arsenal vs Liverpool Carling Cup 2010: Preview and Live Score

If you want to get live score of Arsenal vs Liverpool League Cup match then visit the link- Arsenal and Liverpool Match Live Updates: 28 October 2009

Later tonight, arsenal is going to face Liverpool in a matter of Carling Cup 2010. It is perhaps bad luck that the two clubs are going to face each other so early in this competition this year. However, we all know that, both of them have millions of passionate supporters around the world and tonight, they will watch the match with all their emotion. The two clubs have mixed fortune in the season and that is why, it will be an interesting match to watch tonight. It is a fourth round match.

In the third round, Arsenal defeated by West Bromwich Albion by 2-0 and in that match, the young players played very well. In fact, 56,592 persons came to see the match and they enjoyed it a lot. A lot of credit goes to the coach Arsene Wenger. In the third round, Liverpool went to Leeds United and won the match by 1-0. So, Arsenal has two successive home fixtures while Liverpool has to play two successive matches away. Thus, Liverpool supporters may feel that they are a bit unlucky in the League Cup this time.

Match: Arsenal vs Liverpool Carling Cup 2010 fourth round

Date: 28 October 2009 Wednesday

Starting Time: 1945 GMT

The match will take place at the Emirates and it is the home stadium of Arsenal. So, it is a big advantage for the Gunners as they are always very strong in their home ground. Traditionally, Arsene Wenger puts a very young team in Carling cup. He has been following this tradition for the last few seasons and this way, the young players who can not get any opportunity to play in the English Premier League or at Europea get a very important opportunity to play against the top clubs in England. However, I think that tonight he will be forced to make an exception and he will have to put some senior players. Of course, by senior, I don’t mean aged players but by senior I mean experienced players. So, you can expect that there will be a mixture of youth and experience and let us see how they perform tonight.

On the other hand, Liverpool is perhaps going to put a strong side because their coach Rafael Benitez does not have the same philosophy like Wenger. However, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres may not play in the match. Albert Riera and Martin Kellyare injured and they can not be in the match either. Alberto Aquilani can play his first match for Liverpool and let us see how it does.

In the current season, Arsenal’s young players are doing very well. They are in good position at the moment in the league. In fact, from nine matches the Gunners have got 19 points and are at the third position. In the second position is Manchester United with 22 points from 10 matches. In fact, Arsenal has the best goal difference in the so far with a goal difference for 16. Only Chelsea has that record in the season so far.

On the other hand, Liverpool has a very tough season so far. They have lost a number of matches. But the good part is that in this Saturday, they played against Manchester United and dominated the match and won the match by 2-0. So, their supporters are also expecting big performance tonight from the players.

The league club is a place to show the talent that Arsene Wenger has in his young players. Carlos Vela, Sanchez Watt, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbsare great players and they are perhaps the players for the future for their respective countries. On the other hand, Samir Nasri has been out of action for last few months and tonight he is expected to make a come back. In fact, it will be great to see him in an action. However, Arsenal will surely miss big players Van Persie, Arshavin and Fabregas. I hope that Arsene Wenger puts them in the reserve bench so that if needed they can come into the match.

League cup is something that Liverpool is always strong and in fact, in this competition, they are the strongest and best team. They have won the trophy seven times and it is more than any other club. Liverpool has also played in the final ten times and it is also a record.

Alberto Aquilani is a player that came to Liverpool with a lot of money but has not been able to do anything because of injury. So, it is his opportunity tonight to show his skill. Well, it is interesting to know that Wenger was interested about him to have him in London.

ESPN reported:

But Aquilani was also a player who interested Arsenal following some eye-catching performances in Serie A and Wenger only halted his pursuit when the player suffered from fitness problems last season.
"Yes I know him well," Wenger told the club's official website. "He played against us in the Champions League last year and came off the bench in Rome. He is a talented player but has been troubled a lot by injuries.
"We followed him for one or two years but he did not play a lot last year so he got a little bit out of sight for us and we lost our interest in him."

About the match BBC wrote:

Arsenal
• Arsenal, the 1987 and 1993 winners, have reached at least the last eight in each of the last six seasons.
• The Gunners have a 100% home record this season, having won all of their seven matches at the Emirates Stadium.
Liverpool
• Liverpool have not won away from home since their victory at Leeds in the previous round.
• They are also yet to score an away goal since that match at Elland Road.
So, in the end, it will be a big match. I hope that it becomes a competitive match and whoever wins it becomes an enjoyable game.

CSKA Moscow vs Manchester United Preview and Live Score: Champions League 2009-10

It should not have been a very big match for Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United but because of two factors, it has become a very important match for Man U. First of all, the club is suffering from a number of injuries of key players. On the other hand, the performance of English teams in Moscow was never that good. So, it is perhaps going to be very tough for the Red Devils to defeat CSKA Moscow in tomorrow’s match of Champions League 2009-10. It will be a match of Group B.
Match: CSKA Moscow vs Manchester United
Date: 21 October 2009 Wednesday
Venue: Luzhniki Stadium
Starting Time: 1730 BST
In group B, Manchester United has played two matches and they have got maximum six points out of these two matches. The only thing that they should be concerned is perhaps that they only scored three goals in the two matches but their defensive record is also good. On the other hand, CSKA Moscow also played two matches and they have one match and lost one. In fact, in the opening day on 15 September 2009, CSKA Moscow suffered a crushing defeat against Wolfsburg and then on match state too that took place on 13 September 2009, they defeated Besiktas by 2-1. So, you can understand that their condition is some shaky.
The current form of Manchester United is excellent. They are at the top of English Premier League. They are also getting good amount of goals. So, their supporters are very happy because their club is at the top of both English Premier League and also in UEFA Champions League group B.
Well, you should not take CSKA Moscow that lightly because they have a long history in Europe. In fact, CSKA Moscow won UEFA Cup in 2005 and in the last six years, they have won the title of Russian Premier League three times and Russian Cup five times and Russian Super Cup four times. So, you can easily understand that they are a dominating force in Russian football. They have some quality players who also play for Russian national team.
I think that for Manchester United, the fear of CSKA Moscow is secondary at this moment. They are more afraid of injury concern that is going on at this moment for the club. There will be no Wayne Rooney and mid-fielder Ryan Giggs and left-back Patrice Evra are also out of action. Their will be also no Park Ji-Sung and Darren Fletcher. There is also some doubt about Nemanja Vidić and Dimitar Berbatov. So, with all the strength of Manchester United squad, really they look some weak at this moment. Of course, if there is no there would be no Berbatov then Michael Owen will be in the first eleven perhaps.
BBC reported:
Manchester United will be without both Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney for the Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow.
Patrice Evra, Park Ji-Sung and Darren Fletcher were also absent from the squad flying out to Russia on Monday.
Dimitar Berbatov and Nemanja Vidic are still doubtful for the match but have made the trip to the Russian capital.

CSKA Moscow is at this moment fourth in the Russian team league table. They have less injury concern and they should feel confident because they are playing in their stadium. Well, you know that Russia is always a tough place to play. Moscow is much colder than most European cities and although it is only October 21, it should be still a tough place to play.
I was thinking of the players to watch tomorrow. I think that it is an excellent opportunity for Michael Owen to show his strength. Owen was considered to be the best striker of English national team only a few years ago but these days it seems that he has been out of touch. So, it will be a great opportunity for him to make a strong come back at least European level football. Michael Owen is now just 30 years old and I think that he has still some years left and if he tries then he can get still the best out of him.
Alex Ferguson has expressed his optimism about the match and he thinks that the tough Russian condition would not be a problem for his club. Of course, he has said this thing to boost the spirit of the players but I think that in the end it can prove to be a very tough place to play at Moscow tomorrow night.
Daily Mail reported:
But Ferguson, looking for a victory to put United within touching distance of the last 16 in the Champions League, said: 'CSKA are a young side who know what they are doing and have one win behind them already.
'Also, their home advantage means more than usual because they play on an artificial plastic surface. I don't have a problem with that, though, because we can cope and I am looking to our back-to-back games against CSKA to take us to 10 points and a place in the knockout stages.'

AZ Alkmaar vs Arsenal Preview and Live Score: Champions League 2009-10

It should not have been a big match judging the fact that the Gunners are at the top of the group while AZ Alkmaar is at the bottom. However, don’t forget that it will be a home match for AZ and they are the current champion of Dutch football. So, you have to give them some good amount of respect. From the first two matches, Arsenal has collected maximum 6 points and they have scored 5 goals while suffered 2 goals only. On the other hand, from the fist two matches, AZ has got only one point (a draw against Standard Liège). This group was considered to be too much easy for Wenger and let us if tomorrow night, his men can win the match easily.
This season, so far, Arsenal is at excellent form. The players are providing good performance week after week. They lost to Manchester United and Manchester City in Premier League but both of the two matches were away matches for Wenger. At home, his club is at top form and has won all the matches so far. Right now, Arsenal is at the 4th position in EPL table. However, they have scored the highest number of goals among the clubs. It shows that they are playing attacking football. Even in Europe, they have won all the matches this season so far.
On the other hand AZ is not in good form in Europe. I have already mentioned that they are at the bottom of this group. However, they have excellent record in Europe in the past. Well, the two clubs never faced each other in any game. So, whatever happens is like a record. Well, the current form of AZ in Dutch League is also not good. They have played 10 matches so far and won 5 of them and lost 5. In fact, right now, they are at the 6th position. So, I don’t think that their fans are expecting a huge win over the Gunners tomorrow night. May be any kind of win or even a draw would satisfy the fans of this club.
Arsene Wenger is often criticized that he does not spend money for buying top players. The critics should look at the current squad of AZ who are the current champions of Holland. Well, to compare the two clubs, I would like to draw your attention to the seating capacity of them. AZ has a stadium with only 17,000+ seating capacity. On the other hand, the Emirates can accommodate 60,000 fans. It shows the difference between the two clubs.
Kew Jaliens of AZ is confident that his club can play well against Arsenal. He told UEFA.com
"Everything is still possible in our section. We didn't feel we were the weaker side in the two previous games and we need to prove that in the remaining fixtures. In terms of points, it is still completely open.

We are a footballing team of the Dutch school; we have good positional play, create chances, play an attacking kind of football. In a way we are the Dutch Arsenal. We play football well and like to get as close to the goal as possible to cash in on the opportunities we create."

Bad news for Arsenal is that they will miss their young Ace Theo Walcott because of their injury. It is certainly bad news because Walcott was out of action for few weeks because of another bad injury.
BBC reported:
The 20-year-old winger, who missed the start of the season with a back injury, was substituted just 33 minutes into his first Arsenal start of the season.
"The news is not good," said Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
"We thought it would be just 48 hours but it is a medial knee ligament, which is what I feared after the game."

Well, I know that Wenger has enough quality players to replace Walcott but it is a bad sign. I think that Wenger should try to sign up another few players in the level of Walcott in January Transfer Window so that such injuries do not make the team suffer.
Coming back to tomorrow’s match, I think that Arsenal would win it easily.
Many websites will provide live score of the match and I am mentioning here some of them:

Argentina vs Uruguay Live Updates: 14 October 2009

Uruguay takes on Argentina in a ‘do-or-die’ match of World Cup 2010 qualification on 14 October 2009 at the Estadio Centenario, Montevideo. Both teams would go into the match knowing that winner of the match will automatically qualify for next year’s world cup finals which will take place South Africa. Naturally, neither side would leave any stone unturned to win the match. Coaches of both sides would feature the best possible squad for the game. It is no less important than even a world cup final for both Uruguay and Argentina. Argentina is facing a threat of missing out on a world cup place for the fist time in 40 years, while Uruguay is desperate to ensure their world cup berth this time because the two-time world cup champions failed to qualify for the last world cup in 2006. So, all the elements present are indicating an exciting match.

Match: Argentina vs Uruguay, Round 18, South American Region, World Cup Qualification 2010

Date: 14 October 2009

Kick off: 22:00 GMT; 23:00 BST (British Summer Time); 23:55 CAT (Central African Time); 03:30 am Indian Standard Time (on 15 October)

Venue: Estadio Centenario, Montevideo, Uruguay

Live on TV: Sky Sports 1, Super Sport 5 Television Channels

Let us now see the positions of the two teams in the point table and how they can qualify for world cup 2010 finals. Following the 2-1 victory over Peru earlier this week, Argentina has moved to the fourth place in the standing with 25 points from 17 games, while Uruguay is breathing on the neck of Argentina in the fifth place with 24 points to their credit from the same number of games, and both sides have only a game left in hand in their qualifying campaign. Brazil, Paraguay and Chile have already qualified, and now only one place remains and there are three contenders: Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador, who are at the sixth place with 23 points from 17 matches and would play their last game against Chile. All the three teams can clinch the fourth place depending on the results of their last round matches. Here, it is noteworthy that the fifth placed team would then face the fourth placed team of North American region in a play-off game.

What would happen to Argentina?

1. If Argentina wins over Uruguay, then Maradona boys would directly qualify for the world cup as one of the top four teams of this region.

2. If Argentina draws with Uruguay, then Argentina would ensure at least the fifth place in the standing- meaning the play-off berth. However, Argentina can go into the world cup finals directly even with a draw, if Ecuador fails to defeat Chile by at least 6 goals.

3. If Argentina loses to Uruguay, then there is every possibility Maradona boys would be out of the world cup. However, Argentina can still go into the world cup through play-off even if they lose to Uruguay. How? Well, to do so, Ecuador must not defeat Chile. That means Argentina can clinch the fifth place in the point table ever with a defeat to Uruguay, if Chile does not lose to Ecuador.

What would happen to Uruguay?

1. If Uruguay wins against Argentina, then the home side would ensure their direct qualification to the world cup finals in South Africa next year. Without a win over Argentina, there is no way Uruguay can clinch a world cup place directly as the top four teams in the point table.

2. If Uruguay draws with Argentina, then Uruguay can reach the world cup finals only through play-off. However, to make this happen, Chile must not lose to Ecuador.

3. If Uruguay loses to Argentina, then they could be out of the world cup. However, there is possibility that Uruguay can clinch the fifth place in the standing even if they are defeated by Argentina. However, to make this happen:

(a) Ecuador can not win over Chile; (b) even if Ecuador draws with Chile, Uruguay’s losing margin against Argentina can not be more than 11 goals;

AND

(c) seventh-placed Venezuela (21 points from 17 games) must not defeat Brazil; (d) even if Venezuela defeats Brazil, the joint margin of Venezuela’s win and Uruguay’s defeat can not be more than 14 goals. For example, if Uruguay loses to Argentina by the margin of 7 goals, then Venezuela’s winning margin over Brazil can not be more than 7 goals. If Uruguay’s losing margin against Argentina is 5 goals, then Venezuela’s winning margin over Brazil can not more than 9 goals.

Uruguay and Argentina both got two important wins in their previous world cup qualifying games thanks to injury time goals. Martin Palermo scored a winner for Argentina two minutes into the additional time and his goal has kept Argentina’s world cup hopes alive. Argentina’s performance was better against Peru compared to their performance in the recent past. From the very beginning, they controlled the game, but very Peru forwards threatened and Argentine defense was exposed many times. In fact, Argentina was really lucky that they could come out of the match with 3 points. Peru could have won the game too, had their strikers not squandered off the chances. Once, the ball hit the goal bar and there were a number of close-range misses by the Peru players. Argentina was given a lead by Higuain in the 48th minute, but Rengifo equalized in the 89th minute before Palermo’s winning goal.

Argentina coach Diego Maradona has also revealed that he thought Argentina was out of the world cup before the Palermo strike and the Argentine football legend has termed Palermo as ‘Saint Palermo’.

The Star reported:

“Yes, I thought we were out of the World Cup but I’d forgotten about Palermo, Saint Palermo,” Maradona told reporters.

Maradona celebrated as if he had scored the winner himself, diving on the sodden turf at pitch side and gliding several metres on his chest.

Well, there is enough justification of Maradona’s youthful celebration at this age. He has been under intense pressure over the past six months, more specifically since Argentina’s 6-1 defeat at the hands of Bolivia last April. In fact, Argentina has lost 4 out of their last 7 qualifying games. There were many who started raising question about Maradona’s credibility as a coach. So, it is pretty much certain that the victory over Peru must have given some ground to Maradona now.

Uruguay is delighted after defeating Ecuador 2-1 thanks to an injury time strike from Diego Forlan through penalty. The striker has already termed the upcoming encounter with Argentina as a ‘battle of life and death’.

Telegraph reported:

Forlan said: "I have warm feelings for Argentina. I played there for four years with Independiente and have many Argentine friends. But of course there is rivalry between the two countries. It's maybe not like Argentina against Brazil, but it is going to be a battle of life and death.

"To play at home in front of your own fans to qualify for the World Cup is a dream scenario. We will have our fans behind us, so it will be an extraordinary event."

Overall, it is pretty much certain that both sides would be out there to give their best in the game, looking for three points. Neither side would like to see their world cup hopes hanging on the result of the Ecuador’s match.

Uruguay will have the home advantage, and I think, they would go into the game with an attacking intent, knowing that an early goal would fuel up their hopes of clinching a world cup place. Argentina could start it safely, and with time passes, they would go for attack. They have a very good squad with Lionel Messi at the heart of their attack. There is no doubt, both sides would like to have a special performance from their star players like Messi and Forlan. I do not see any side favorite for the game, but expect an enthralling match.
