Sir Alex Ferguson is unhappy after a damaging defeat of Manchester United at the hand of Wolverhampton Wanderers. In another match, Arsenal drew against Newcastle 4-4 that is why Manchester United had a big opportunity to extend a huge lead in the league table.

The 2-1 defeat at the hand of Wolverhampton meant that Manchester United lost their first match of the season. There were a lot of expectations from the supporters that this time United would win all the matches and remain undefeated or invincible. In Premier League history, only one club has been able to achieve this success and that is Arsenal. So, mister Ferguson has to remain satisfied without getting this honor with his name for this season.

Manchester United is still leading the point table but they have to be more careful from now. 

Sir Alex Ferguson: Bob Bradley Capable of Taking Fulham Challenge

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who is currently in the US with Manchester United squad, has revealed that USA coach Bob Bradley has the ability to take up a new challenge becoming the next coach of Premier League side Fulham.

Fulham has been looking for a new manager since the departure of Roy Hodgson for Liverpool last month. They recently failed to bring in Ajax manager Martin Jol. Reports suggest that Bob Bradley is one of the candidates in Fulham’s shortlist alongside former England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson. However, Fulham has not made any formal offer to Bradley yet.

Ferguson is surprised at Bob Bradley not being offered a new contract following USA's impressive show in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Bradley guided the Americans to the second round of the World Cup before losing to Ghana. Bradley’s existing deal will expire at the end of this year, but USA soccer federation is yet to hand him a new contract.

Ferguson believes Bradley’s job with USA national team has been ‘fantastic’ and the 52-year-old should have been offered a new contract upon returning home from South Africa.

Bob Bradley is also an admirer of Manchester United’s Scottish manager and studied Ferguson’s coaching method earlier. Bradley has been at the helm of USA since 2006 and has brought a remarkable success in last year’s Confederations Cup where USA reached the tournament final, their first and so far only appearance in the final of a FIFA tournament.

ManU Chief Assures Ferguson of Summer Transfer Fund

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has assured manager Sir Alex Ferguson of enough fund to spend in the Summer transfer window. Earlier, reports out in the media suggested that the Red Devils had not enough buck to sign players in the Summer as the club is now under huge debt.

Well, it is good news for the United fans who would welcome new stars at the club. However, it is pretty much understandable that United would not go for any big star in the Summer. Rather, it would like to sign young players who could play for a long time. In fact, Ferguson already signed two new players: Chris Smalling and Javier Hernandez for the next season.

Gill has also said that the club already discussed about the possible targets, but he was reluctant to reveal any name as he thinks it is not the style of Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson Eyeing on Luka Modric

Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly keen to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Mordic for next season. The Sun reported that the Red Devils manager could make a £25million bid for the Croatian international who came into limelight through his Euro 2008 performance.

Ferguson recently praised the midfielder in his program note before Untied’s 3-1 victory over the Spurs at home. Now that he is interested to sign the Croatian international means that Micahel Carrick seems to have been out of Ferguson’s favor. Carrick’s performance was not up to the mark this season and was poor against Bayern Munich in the quarter final of Champions League.

Luka Mordic joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 for a transfer fee of £16.5m. Considering his recent move, I do not think that Tottenham would like to let him move to Manchester United. Only a big offer from Manchester United could make Tottenham think otherwise.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been full of praise about his first choice left back Patrice Evra who has been in excellent form so far this season. He did not miss any premier league game this season. Ferguson said that Evra was the most consistent player of Manchester United this season, despite Wayne Rooney’s 34 goals. He even also termed Evra as world’s best player at the left back position.

Manchester United’s back four was badly hit by injury throughout this season with Ferdinand, Vidic, O’Shea, Evans and Neville were all out of action at some point this season. Red Devils went through a difficult phase that time and Evra showed his character at the right time. Evra has also been part of PFA Team of the year because of his sensational performance.

Portuguese winger Nani has recently come down hard on Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. He revealed it in the Portuguese media and now it seems that his United days are going to be over in the near future. Nani termed Ferguson as a “complicated man” and said that a player can get raving complement from the coach and in a few minutes he could condemn the player.

Well, the Portugal international has now said that he has no problem with the coach and has admitted that he is frustrated for not having enough playing time for United, but he has accepted Ferguson’s decision of not giving him enough first team football. I think, Nani should not be frustrated because he is still young and is gradually developing. It is true that he could not live up to the expectation yet, but he has been in improvement. So, he should accept what Ferguson decides because at the end of the day it is Ferguson who knows how to manage a team.

Sir Alex Ferguson on Intentional Diving and Simulation

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed his disappointment at the growing practice of simulation in European football. Recently, he took part in a meeting of Elite Club Coaches Forum of UEFA where the simulation issue got top priority. All the coaches agreed to eradicate this practice for the betterment of the game.

Ferguson said that this practice has increased a lot over the last 15 years in English football. He says that no coach is proud of his players who can earn decision in their favor by imitating or deceiving the referee. He points out Arsenal striker Eduardo’s case as a big example of this practice.

Eduardo has been handed a two-match ban for diving during a Champions league qualifying game against Celtic which earned Arsenal a penalty through which came first of their three goals in the match. Arsenal is preparing to appeal against the ban.

Ferguson thinks that it is unacceptable practice and believes that educating the young players about the cons of this practice is the best way to remove this problem. He also feels that players should act on moral ground and also asks for his Manchester United players to act in this way.

Manchester Untied takes on premier league club Fulham in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter final match. United recently clinched the Carling Cup title and holds the FIFA Club World Cup title too. So, winning five titles in one season, which seemed to be a distant reality even a couple of months back, now seems very possible by the Red Devils with the titles of FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League are now at stake.

Well, ahead of the FA Cup showdown with Fulham, manager Sir Alex Ferguson has recently said that even a deflected shot could end their FA Cup hope this season and he has enough justification of saying so. Last season, Manchester Untied was left out of the FA Cup from the quarter final stage after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of eventual winner Portsmouth, despite the fact that the Red Devils dominated throughout the match. That is where Ferguson’s fear lies. Manchester United now leading the premier league by 7 points with a match in hand.

Ferguson might rest some of his key players to ensure a full-strength squad ahead of Champions League clash with Inter Milan next Wednesday. Well, I still bet on United’s favor, considering their big squad a number of quality players they have in each position on the field.

However, reports available in the media suggest that both Rooney and Evra could come back with Manchester United’s FA Cup fifth round showdown with Derby County next Sunday.

It was not that Rooney and Evra could not have become part of Manchester United squad that toured Upton Park. However, manager Sir Alex Ferguson was reluctant to risk two of his key players for a low profile premier league clash. Manchester United has been in excellent form recently as they have been in a winning run of eight games in premier league, apart from a run of 13 clean sheets in a row in premier league. As Rooney and Evra are waiting to return in action against Derby County, Manchester United is expected to get over the Derby County challenge pretty comfortably.
