Sprint ID is now available for Samsung Epic 4G smartphone and Samsung Galaxy Tab. Today, the carrier announced this software update which also includes Android 2.2 Froyo operating system for Epic 4G.
Sprint ID is an application made by Sprint to facilitate users to download a package named an “ID Pack” which includes various apps, widgets, wallpapers, ringtones and other things which can meet the specific needs or interests of the users.
The current users of Samsung Epic 4G and Samsung Galaxy Tab would be notified over-the-air through their devices about the software update. Then they can install the software from the notification tab, and once installed, they can start using Sprint ID from the Applications Menu on their devices.
For those who are going to buy Epic 4G or Galaxy Tab will find Sprint ID pre-installed on the two devices.
The Android 2.2 Froyo update would enable the Epic 4G users to enjoy various new features including Adobe Flash 10.1, Bluetooth support and the facility of installing apps to external storage.
In October 2010, Sprint ID was launched on three devices: LG Optimus S, Sanyo Zio and Samsung Transform. However, that launch was not successful due to bug problems.
