Javier Hernández: Manchester United rising star

Manchester United’s Mexican forward, Javier Hernández, displayed his talent at the friendly match with MLS All Stars on July 28, 2010. The 22-year old forward played only for 28 minutes and scored a brilliant goal on his debut match ensuring his return in the main team in the season.

The friendly match between MLS All Stars took place at Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas. The match saw a crowd of 70,728, making a record for any soccer game at the Reliant Stadium and the fourth highest for an All-Stars game.

The credit goes to Javier Hernández, the 'El Chicharito,' who attracted a large number of Mexican people to the game and satisfied them with his first score for the Manchester United.

Manchester United scored five goals against MLS All Stars 2. Interestingly, Manchester United team did not have its star player at the friendly but younger players who faced the MLS All Stars line-b up made up of players brought from eight clubs.

Hernández was introduced at the 62nd minute. He scored his first goal from Darren Fletcher’s ball at the 84th minute.

Hernández got Man U’s attention in October 2009. A scout went to Mexico in December 2009 and reported about his game. Manchester United went into a quick bid for the player for they were afraid that he would be called into the World Cup Squad. Hernández was finally signed up on April 8, 2010 for Manchester United for £7m.
