Arsenal and Manchester United Interested in Miguel Veloso

Miguel Veloso has been a target for both Arsenal as well as Manchester United. The Sporting Lisbon midfielder was earlier reportedly linked with a number of European clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham and Juventus over the Summer. Arsenal made a last-minute bid for the midfielder in the closing days of the summer transfer window. However, hi possible move to premier league or Serie A did not materialize during Summer.

Now, Veloso’s agent Paulo Barbosa has recently admitted that Arsenal and Manchester United are interested to sign the player and the player will cost at least 20 millions euros either club. Barbosa has also indicated that a possible deal for either club could be done in January transfer window. The Portuguese international joined Sporting Lisbon in 2006 and spent an excellent last season. Miguel Veloso himself is interested to move to English premier league and his move to England seems to be apparent now.

Arsenal has been linked with a number of midfielder over the Summer in order to fill up the gap left by the departure of the midfielders like Gilberto, Mathew Flamini in Summer transfer window. Arsene Wenger was linked with the players like Xabi Alonso and Gareth Barry, but could not include any defensive midfielder during summer. Manchester United, on the other hand, has a number of options in the midfield, but Ferguson might be eyeing on a replacement for injury-pronged midfielder Owen Hargreaves. Now, let us see who win the race to sign the young prospect of Portugal, Miguel Veloso.
