Manchester United not to Pay More for Dimitar Berbatov

Manchester United seems not to be interested to pay over the odds for the Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov. It has been reported earlier that the striker, who scored 15 goals in premier league last season and was in the list of top ten highest goal scorers, is one of the main targets of Ferguson for the Summer transfer window. However, the problem is that the demand of Tottenham Hotspur does not match what Manchester United wants to pay for the Bulgarian striker.

Reports have it that Spurs demand around £30million which is a bit higher that what Manchester United wants to pay. So, it is possible to have a negotiation between the clubs over the transfer issue of Dimitar Berbatov, who already expressed his wish to play for Manchester United in what would hand him the chance to play at Champion League once again. The striker came as a substitute for Leverkusen in the 2002 Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Manchester United is going to leave for South Africa as part of their pre-season tour. However, it is not yet confirmed if Manchester United and Tottenham will be bale to reach an agreement on transfer issue of Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian’s move to United might accelerate the possible departure of French striker Louis Saha who missed most of the last season due to injury at Manchester United.
