Chelsea vs Manchester United Champions League: John Terry Doubtful

Chelsea captain John Terry is now aiming to come back in action and lead Chelsea against Manchester United in the upcoming Champions League final in Moscow. Terry pulled up with an elbow injury during his side’s 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers in the last match of English Premier League. The English defender had a collision with Chelsea keeper Petr Cech that caused a serious damage to his left elbow and was immediately brought out of the field. Though the medics are not sure whether he could recover from the injury before Chelsea vs Manchester United showdown kicks off, Chelsea manager Avram Grant is optimistic overt he recovery of his captain.

Telegraph reported:

That Terry has a remarkable pain threshold is beyond doubt, but the key to Avram Grant's decision will be assessing whether he has regained the strength in his left arm sufficiently to cope with the physical test of jostling for the ball against the likes of Wayne Rooney.

John Terry is one of the main strength of Chelsea defense and losing a player of his caliber would definitely lessen the strength of Chelsea. Terry is experienced and when it comes to a big match like Champions League final, you can not deny using such experience.

This is not the first time, Terry has fallen in injury. In fact, the defender suffered various injuries over the past one year. At first, he suffered a fractured cheekbone, followed by a knee problem. Then against Arsenal, he took a blow to his foot resulting in breaking several bones. Last Summer, Terry suffered a broken toe. So, injury has become common-a-matter for John Terry.

Well, Chelsea failed to win the English Premier League title. So, Chelsea would be desperate to win the Champions League final, as it is the only way to win silverware for Chelsea this season. So, Chelsea manager as well as the fans would be happy to get John Terry in the mouth watering clash with Manchester United on 21 May 2008. Let us see if John Terry can come back in action to lead Chelsea in the match.
