Rio Ferdinand Focused on Winning

Manchester United suffered a shocking defeat to the city rivals Manchester City. It was more than losing just three points to Manchester United as it was their first home defeat to Manchester City in the last 34 years. Following their lack luster performance, Arsenal won over Blackburn Rovers to take a lead of five points at the top of the league point table.

Man U defender, Rio Ferdinand said that Manchester United now needed to come back in winning in order to set the setback aside in the league. Manchester United welcomes Arsenal at the Old Trafford this Saturday in the FA Cup fifth round clash. So, the match is now very crucial for the Ferguson boys. A defeat would left Manchester United at the slope with little confidence to come back in the league, while a victory would definitely be a huge boost for their pursuit to defend the title of premier league as well as keep themselves active in FA Cup.

Goal.com reported:

"We didn't do any of the things that have taken us into a good position in the league and made us a threatening, compact team," he told MUTV.

"It was a very bad weekend. We've all been thinking about the reasons why it happened and how we want to pull ourselves together and get the result out of our minds."

"The best thing you can do is to come into training and just get focused on winning the next game, and that's what we're doing," he stressed.

It is obviously true that Manchester United must have to win the match if they want to come out of the setback of last week. Ferdinand is the most reliable man in Manchester United defense. So, in order to stop the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Manchester United must need the help of Ferdinand. Now, let us see if Ferdinand helps his team to come back in winning run.
