Premier League Title Race Becoming Closer

Manchester United is going to face second bottom side Fulam in their next fixture of premier league, while leader Arsenal hosts sixth placed Aston Villa on Saturday. Arsenal has a three-point lead at the top of premier league. Last week, Manchester United triumphed over Newcastle United 5-1, while Arsenal was held to a frustrating draw with Birmingham City. Thus, the five-point lead of Arsenal at the top has been reduced to three. Manchester United is now determined to get back their top place in the premier league.

International Herald Tribune reported:

"Everybody in the squad is determined to get to the top of the league as quickly as possible and I'm sure it will happen," Man United midfielder Park Ji-sung said. "The league is so close so it's possible we'll end the season on the same points as Arsenal. In that case, games like the one against Newcastle ... can certainly help us (improve our goal difference)."

I think, the league competition has come to in an exciting stage where three teams are still active in the title race, though Chelsea is gradually getting out of the competition. Arsenal has gone though some bad days recently and they need to come back in winning track in order to hold on the top place of premier league. Any more slip up of Arsenal would cost them decisively in the league. For Manchester United, it needs to be ensured that they are ready to capitalize on any chance given by Arsenal to take the lead in league in their pursuit to defend the premier league title this season. Anyway, I am looking forward to a stiff competition in the remaining part of the season.
