Shaun Wright-Phillips missed England’s practice session ahead of the friendly match against Switzerland on Monday. FA claimed that he had been rested as a precaution but there was nothing serious. The Chelsea midfielder is one of the members of Fabio Capello’s 23-man squad, which will meet Switzerland at the Wembley stadium tomorrow.
England has already lost three players out with injury. So, any more injury would come as a big blow ahead of England coach Fabio Capello’s first match in charge of England national team.
Sky Sports reported:
An FA spokesman said: "Shaun Wright-Phillips did not train at Wembley tonight.
"He was rested as a precaution and will be assessed tomorrow, but the problem is not thought to be serious."
It is expected that Wright-Phillips will be able to feature in the match. However, he has to outfight David Bentley for making a place in the right wing of England starting line up. Now, let us see if Shaun Wright-Phillips can win a place in the first eleven of England against Switzerland in the friendly match.
