Manchester United and Arsenal to Face Each Other in FA Cup Fifth Round

Manchester United and Arsenal will take on each other in the fifth round match of FA Cup 2007-2008. The match will be held on February 16 at Old Trafford, the home match of Manchester United. They are the two most successful clubs of FA Cup history. Manchester United won 11 FA Cup titles, whereas Arsenal won 10 titles. Fans are eagerly waiting for the high profile clash between Manchester United and Arsenal.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also in the title race of English Premier League. Both the clubs are going hand in hand in the league with 54 points each. However, Manchester Untied leads the point table with goal difference. Manchester United and Arsenal faced each other in FA Cup last time in 2005 FA Cup final which Arsenal won in the penalty shootout.

So, Manchester United will seek revenge of that defeat this time. Arsenal progressed to the fifth round after projecting an inspirational 3-0 victory over Newcastle United, following a crushing defeat to local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Carling Cup match. Manchester Untied, on the other hand, has been in an imperious form. With a 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United booked their fifth round place in FA Cup.

Manchester Untied and Arsenal are going to present with a high profile clash in the FA Cup. It is a bit unexpected that either of them will be out of FA Cup from the fifth round. It is like a final before the final. So, can you feel the excitement now; if not then wait just a few more days. No matter, which teams progress to the next round, what is expect is to see a competitive match.
