England had a slow start in the tournament, but the Three Lions continued improving in all the matches. They won the first match 3-2 over Austria, but their performance was not pretty much satisfactory. The junior lions then lost to Netherlands 1-0 in the next game, but the sign of improvement was evident in their second half performance.

England then clinched a point from the hard-fought France encounter which ended up in a 1-1 draw. The most important thing is that England showed their best football against group champion France. Though they had to wait for the Matt Phillips equalizer until the final minute of injury time, England dominated over host France for a brief period in the second half. With the point obtained from the France match, England accompanied France in the last four from Group A.

Spain reached the semi final as the Group B champion after winning all three group stage matches. Young Spaniards, inspired by the recent World Cup success of their senior side, put on some dominating performances so far in this tournament. First, they defeated Croatia 2-1 before beating Portugal 2-1 and Italy 3-0.

Two football powerhouses, Portugal and Italy, emulated the disastrous World Cup performance of their senior sides in this tournament as they failed to make it to the semi final.

No doubt, England is going to face a tough challenge from Spain. However, football fans can expect an entertaining showdown with both sides having some talented and potential players.

Spanish striker Daniel Pacheco is the joint leading scorer along with Croatia’s Zvonko Pamic with 3 goals to his credit, while England’s West Ham United prodigy Frank Nouble scored 2 goals so far in the tournament. So, both the players are currently in the race of winning the Golden Boot of the tournament and their teams would expect another special performance from them on Tuesday.

England and Spain are two giants in world football. Though the match does not feature the international stars like Wayne Rooney or David Villa, both sides have some highly skilled talented players who have all the qualities to follow the footsteps of Rooney and Villa.
