Ashley Cole to Real Madrid: Still Looks Uncertain

Since his appointment as the new Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho has been tracking Chelsea left back Ashley Cole as one of his transfer priorities in the Summer transfer market. It is also pretty much clear that England international is also looking for a new start following his personal life debacle.

However, Chelsea has showed no sign of letting the 29-year-old go and manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident that Cole is happy at Chelsea and would not leave the club. Mourinho, on the other hand, has now become desperate to secure Cole’s service after failing to sign Aleksandar Kolarov who recently signed for Manchester City.

Failing to sign Ashley Cole would be a huge blow for Mourinho who is burdened with a huge expectation following Real Madrid’s two dismal seasons

The Real Madrid manager has reportedly asked the club officials to make a £20 million-bid for Cole. He is even also keen to offer attacking midfielder Rafael van der Vaart in a part exchange part cash deal for Ashley Cole whom Mourinho signed from Arsenal during his managerial tenure at Chelsea.

Reports also suggest that Mourinho is going to give a last try to land Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard who has also been one of the priorities of the Portuguese.

Overall, the Ashley Cole’s transfer to Real Madrid still looks undertain with Chelsea showing no interest in negotiations.
