Amitabh Bachchan and his family will not be attending at the IIFA 2010

Despite being the face of International Indian Film Academy Awards function, the 67-year-old megastar, Amitabh Bachchan, is not sure whether he will attend at the award ceremony or not. It is also reported that his son, Abhishek Bachchan, and daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, will be missing the event as they are busy to promote their upcoming movie, Raavan.

Except Amitabh Bachchan and his family, about 97 percent of the top stars have confirmed their presence at this event. It has been reported that Big B and his family will skip IIFA Awards. May be, Amitabh Bachchan’s presence at the IIFA will be million dollar question.

Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, told reporters that some small groups in Tamil Nadu are making pressure on some stars discouraging them not to attend the IIFA Awards 2010.

Mani Ratnam, the director of the film Raavan, and popular Tamil actor, Kamal Haasan, have decided to boycott the event. However, Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Rampal will not participating in the forthcoming IIFA Awards.

Perhaps Hrithik Roshan is going to be the only big star who will lead Indian star cricket team against Sri Lanka in a charity match.

The three day IIFA event will kick off from June 3, 2010. It is going to be a special event that will include a business forum, fashion show and a charity cricket match involving Indian and Sri Lankan movie and cricket stars.

Joseph Sabhash, the Chairman of the IIFA Awards, is highly excited about the event. He said that the event will lead massive development in Sri Lanka, where Sri Lankan army fought against LTTE for 30 years. It will also help Sri Lanka to enhance its multi national relationships with India through the festival. It will also be effective for business men in both countries and enthusiast foreign investors to invest in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan beauty, Jacqueline Fernandez, will perform in this event in some roles.

Let’s see if IIFA gets success this year.
