Defending champion Manchester United is going to host Tottenham Hotspur on 1 December 2009 in the fifth round of Carling Cup 2009-10. This would be the repeat of last season’s League Cup final that United won in penalty shootout. Tottenham Hotspur has been in good form so far this season and it seems that Manchester United would face some strong challenge from the North London side. Moreover, the spurs would be tempted to take revenge of their defeat in last season’s final.
Arsenal will visit Manchester City in another highly anticipated fifth round clash of Carling Cup. The Gunners would like to avenge of their 4-2 defeat at Manchester City in premier league this season. Blackburn Rovers would take on Chelsea at home, while Portsmouth will face Aston Villa at home. All the fifth round matches of Carling Cup 2009-10 will be held on 1 December 2009.
