Manuel Almunia Returned in Action in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur

Manuel Almunia, the regular Arsenal goalkeeper, has returned in action in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last night, after recovering his long injury. However, there were many who thought that manager Arsene Wenger would not bring Almunia back in the first eleven in such an important match.

However, Arsenal’s French manager has said that he played Almunia over Vito Mannone, weighing on Almunia’s vast experience. Wenger has also admitted that Mannone has done very well in deputizing for Alumnia. He thinks that it would have been huge pressure for Mannone to play against city rivals Tottenham.
