Arsene Wenger: Kieran Gibbs has the Ability to Play for England in World Cup 2010

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that his young prodigy Kieran Gibbs can clinch a place in the England squad for world cup 2010. However, Wenger has also added that the 20-year-old left back must prove his quality and talent in order to win a regular place in Arsenal squad.

Wenger has admitted that Kieran Gibbs does not have enough experience, but the player has quality, and in order to flourish his quality Gibbs needs to play consistently for Arsenal.

ESPN Soccernet reported:

"It is a big season for Kieran," Wenger said. "I believe he has the quality to be the England left-back, and have said that for a long time.

"He is still very young. He has a lack of experience, but has the quality. For him now it is to consistently play….”

The good news for Kieran Gibbs is that England manager Fabio Capello has also indicated that he could make it to the England squad for next year’s world cup finals in South Africa. So, Gibbs has to utilize the current season in order to clinch a place in England squad.
