Manchester City’s £25.5m Signing Carlos Tevez to Sit out for Arsenal Clash

Manchester City and Arsenal are facing each other next Saturday in a highly-anticipating premier league clash. However, Manchester City’s Argentina striker Carlos Tevez, who was signed in the summer transfer window for a fee of £25.5m, would miss the important match against Arsenal as the forward is struggling with a knee injury that he suffered while representing Argentina against Brazil last weekend.

Interestingly, City Brazilian striker Robinho is also doubtful for the visit to Arsenal as he also picked up a knock during the Argentina-Brazil match. The good thing is that his knock is not very serious and City boss Mark Hughes is expecting to get the service of Robinho.

However, if Manchester City misses both of their key strikers, then it would be a huge test for City to cope up with two such injury woes. In fact, we can see the depth of Manchester City’s squad through these two injuries.

Here, it is also notable that Carlos Tevez will also miss Argentina’s crucial world cup qualifying match against Paraguay on 9 September, while Robinho is missing Brazil’s match against Chile which seems to be a less important match as Brazil is already through to the world cup finals and Chile is on the verge of qualifying for next year’s world cup.
