The 29-year-old was not at his best over the last couple of years as he struggled with injury and form both for his country and club. Michael Owen has made a move to Manchester United this summer from Newcastle United, and thus, indicating a possible revival in his career. Besides praising his talent and skill as a player, Ferguson also warned the striker about a stiff competition that he has to face to clinch a regular spot in both Manchester United and England squad. He also said that Owen must prove his skill and talent to get a regular place in the England national team because his reputation would not earn him a place in the squad.
