McGrath foundation becoming popular

(This entry was originally published on Sunday, January 4th, 2009)

Glenn McGrath is out of cricket action but he is now very busy with his charity organization, McGrath foundation. He is working to raise money for supporting breast cancer patients. He has received huge support in Australia and in the last few days, he has been able to raise nearly $100,000. It is nice to see that he is trying very hard for a noble cause. Even there is a website for this and its address is http://www.mcgrathfoundation.com.au/.

I wish that other cricket players also join this kind of cause. They can easily make a difference. I remember that Steve Waugh of Australia was also engaged in a charity program for supporting Indian children. However, I am yet to see these kinds of initiatives from Indian players like Sachin Tendulkar or Sourav Ganguly who earn a huge amount of money from cricket. I think that they should learn from Australian cricketers in this regard.
