Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has recently expressed that Robinho is a very good player and he worth the amount Manchester City paid to sign him on the deadline day of the transfer window. Chelsea had tracked the former Real Madrid star all through the summer and Robinho himself had admitted that he was interested to join Stamford Bridge. However, soon after Manchester City’s Arab take-over was materialized, the Eastlands club emerged in the transfer market with buckets of money with them and eventually signed the Brazilian striker by re-writing the British record transfer fee at £32.4.
Today, Robinho is expected to get his debut for City against Chelsea. Scolari was desperate to sign his former student of Santos, but could not meet the amount Robinho was valuated at Real Madrid. However, the world cup winning Brazilian coach dismissed talk of Chelsea’s inability to afford to buy a big-budget signing. Claiming that he had no influence on money at the club, Scolari said that the club has a philosophy and it offered what it thought to be right for the player and the club.
Scolari confirmed that it was not matter of having money or not; rather it was a matter of the club’s philosophy. Luiz Felipe Scolari joined Chelsea following the club’s loss at Manchester Untied in the final of Champions League last season that prompted the sack of Chelsea’s former manager Avram Grant. Now, let us see if Chelsea can win silverware this season.
