Luzhniki Stadium is the biggest sports stadium in Russia with an all covered seating capacity of 84,745 and the stadium is part of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, which was the prime venue of 1980 Summer Olympics Games. The complex was earlier known as Central Lenin Stadium. Because of cold Russian climate, the stadium uses an artificial pitch, a FIFA-approved FieldTurf pitch which was installed in 2002. However, Chelsea vs Manchester United final match will be held on natural grass. The stadium has some bitter past experience around a football match in 1982 during a UEFA Cup match. A disaster happened that resulted in death of many football fans. Officially it was reported that 66 people lost their lives during that match.
