Surgeon Says, Eduardo will Make an Excellent Recovery

You already know that Arsenal striker Eduardo has gone through a surgery on his left leg. Eduardo suffered horrific injury during his side’s 2-2 draw with Birmingham City. City’s Martin Taylor tacked him hardly during the match causing a fracture in his left leg and an open dislocation in the ankle. The surgeon, Keith Porter, who operated the surgery, said that the injury was hideous. He said that that was an injury which was not seen often. For the betterment of Eduaro, he decided to go though the surgery soon. Keith Porter is now hopeful that Eduardo will have good recovery.

Goal.com reported:

"Eduardo was very grateful and a good patient as he must have been in considerable pain," said the professor. "It was a difficult dislocation, you don't see many like that. I spoke with the Arsenal surgeon and we agreed it was in Eduardo's best interests to go to theatre quickly.
"Everyone could see it was a very severe injury, the only thing the public couldn't see - as the sock remained intact - was the skin was torn. It was a hideous injury.
"But he will make an excellent recovery and I have been advised he is on track and he seems to be doing OK. I am sure he will get back to playing eventually, but not without a few anxieties."

Initially, it was thought that the players would be sidelined for nine months, but recently it has been reported that he might remain out of action for 15 months. So, it is almost clear that he will miss the remainder of the season with Arsenal and Croatia’s EURO 2008 campaign.

Martin Taylor has been fully criticized for that tackle made on Eduardo and handed a three match suspension. However, FIFA President Sepp Blatter called for an extended penalty for Taylor recently. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claimed a life ban of Taylor. However, Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish requested fans and media to move on from the incident and allow both the players to go on in their lives.
