Benitez, Ferguson, Wenger and Grant Hopeful ahead of ‘Super Sunday’ Matches

The two most important matches of premier league this season are going to take place within next six hours. Liverpool travels to Manchester United, while Chelsea hosts Arsenal. You do not need to be a specialist to understand the significance of the two mouth-watering clashes.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is upbeat ahead of the tie with Manchester United. The Spanish coach said that Liverpool had more confidence and more players who were capable of changing the game. No doubt, Liverpool is now at their prime form. They are now in a run of seven consecutive victories in all competitions. Though they are still 11 points behind the leader Manchester United and secure the fourth place in the table, Liverpool can take inspiration from their enthralling recent performance.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said that he loved Liverpool games. To him, the matches against Liverpool always bought out some anticipation among his players. However, Mr. Ferguson did not forget to mention the excellent combination that Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres have made in Liverpool attack.

Presstv reported:

"I love the Liverpool games, I must admit,"

"I think the Liverpool game brings out certain anticipation in our players and they'll be anticipating in a difficult game. Liverpool are very strong defensively and people are talking about the Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres partnership," he said.

"There's nothing better for me and my players, particularly the older ones who've experienced it many times like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand."

Arsenal is not at their top form after four consecutive draws in the league. Though the Gunners showed their skill and ability in San Siro a few weeks ago seeing off the host side AC Milan from the Champions League, Arsenal now needs to show similar performance today evening when they meet Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Manager Arsene Wenger is now looking forward to the match.

Reuters reported:

"We've got the strength of character to win the title, believe me," manager Arsene Wenger told the club's Web site (www.arsenalfc.com).

"That's my belief, my firm belief and at the game on Sunday you will see."

Chelsea is very strong at their home ground. In fact, the Blues lost their last premier league game four years ago at their home ground. Interestingly, Arsenal was the last team to have beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the league. Now, let us see what Chelsea manager Avram Grant is thinking.

Sportinglife reported:

"First I want Chelsea to be unique," said the 52-year-old Israeli.

"We will take something from here, something from there. But we don't need to look how Barcelona plays or Arsenal plays, everybody has their own style. Of course we want to be entertaining, though.

"If you take the last four games we scored so many goals that supporters must have enjoyed it. I think most of the supporters have enjoyed Chelsea this season, they like what we are doing.

So, you can see that managers of all four teams are now hopeful ahead of the two high profile matches. Though Manchester United is now a bit ahead of the other contenders and Liverpool is a bit behind in the race, I think, all four teams are still in the title race and the results of the today’s matches will have a big impact in the title race of Premier League.
