Sir Alex Ferguson Urges Manchester United Players to Follow the Feat of Busby Babies

We can get lessons from history, we can learn many things from history, we can even be inspired from the past. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is now asking his players to do the same thing that Busby Boys did late 1958 following the Munich air crash. Well, do not be worried because nothing has happened like Munich air disaster now. Actually, Ferguson is trying to revive the form of Manchester United ahead of the FA Cup clash with Arsenal on Saturday. To him, Manchester United was facing a test following the Munich tragedy, and as of now, Manchester United is facing another test after suffering a home defeat to city rivals Manchester City for the first time in 34 years.

You know losing a derby match is not only losing three points, rather losing the prestige of the club. Following Manchester United’s heart breaking home derby defeat, Arsenal capitalized on the chance going five points clear at the top of premier league. Earlier, Manchester United had been held to a draw against Portsmouth in the previous match. Now, ahead of the FA Cup fifth round match against Arsenal is now the centre of attention.

Times Online reported:

"I have a feeling the emotions got to our players," he said. "The minute's silence was very emotional - it got to me. Certainly it was one of the worst performances you would have expected from a Manchester United side. But we have to put that behind us. Back in 58 it was a test for the club - now we have a test."

Whatever is it, the main thing is that Manchester United lost three points at the crucial stage of the season. Any more slip up might make Manchester United out of the title race. However, Manchester United must think about the FA Cup tie with Arsenal because a victory against Arsenal could indirectly help them to restore their confidence, while another defeat would come as another big blow for their campaign to defend the title this season. Let us see if Manchester United players can bounce back following the feat of Busby Babies.
