Schedule of FA Cup 2007-2008 Fifth Round

The fifth round matches of FA Cup 2007-2008 will be held on 16th and 17th February. The draw of the fifth round was held on 28 January. There are eight matches in this round. However, Manchester United vs Arsenal match is the most highlighted match of this round. The match will be held at Old Trafford on the 16th. Liverpool will take on Barnsley on the same day, while Chelsea will face Huddersfield at the same time. There are two other premier league teams: Portsmouth and Middlesbrough. Portsmouth will travel to Preston, while Sheffield United is going to welcome Middlesbrough on 17 February.

The losing sides will be knocked out of the tournament and the winners will step into the next stage of FA Cup 2007-2008. Manchester United vs Arsenal match is now the center of all attention, though all the matches are expected to be competitive. Manchester United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 in the fourth round on their way to the fifth round. Arsenal also projected a big margin victory over Newcastle United in the fourth round of FA Cup. Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 3-0 and since then they have been in impressive run. However, Manchester United just received a humiliating defeat to crosstown rivals Manchester City in the league.

Five premier league teams were crashed out of the tournament in the fourth round. It is sure that either Manchester United or Arsenal will be out of the tournament from this round. Now, let us see if the other premier league team can get into the next round of FA Cup.
