Manchester United vs Arsenal FA Cup Preview

Manchester United is going to take on Arsenal within few hours at Old Trafford. Ahead of the crucial FA Cup fifth round match, the fans of both sides are now feeling the excitement. Arsenal is missing some of their in form stars including goal keeper Manuel Almunia, Theo Walcott, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Robin van Persie. Philippe Senderos is in doubt for the match. However, the Gunners will have their African stars Kolo Touré and Emmanuel Eboué for the match.

Manchester Untied is going through a tough time with their patchy form. The Red Devils suffered a shocking defeat to the rivals Manchester City in their last league match. With this defeat Manchester United handed Arsenal the opportunity to go five points clear at the top of premier league. Manchester United must need an inspirational victory before the home crowed tonight in order to come out of their unimpressive performance. The good news for the home supporters is that striker Louis Saha is expected to be back in action after recovering from knee injury. Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra have been back in contention after suspension. Two defenders Gary Neville and Mikael Silvestre will remain sidelined.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson are going to face each other for the 35th time since they take over the managerial job of Arsenal and Manchester United. Manchester United won 12 times while Arsenal emerged winner in 14 matches out of their previous 34 meetings. Manchester United and Arsenal are two of the most successful teams of FA Cup.

Manchester United has not been impressive in their last two premier league matches. So, they need to win the FA Cup match for two reasons- first, to keep themselves active in FA Cup 2007-2008 and second, to get a boost in their confidence level which might steer their mission to defend the league title. Arsenal is now atop the league point table with five points ahead of Manchester United. So, a victory will not only keep their FA Cup title hope alive but also inspire their young players to go on their impressive run in the premier league.
