Manchester United Handles a £25,000 Fine for Seven Bookings

Manchester United has been fined £25,000 for seven bookings during their 1-1 stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur in the last premier league match. Manchester United’s lackluster performance mingled with the monetary fine by FA has come as a disappointment for them. The fine will come in doubled amount if six or more Manchester United players are booked in any of the remaining matches of this season.

Manchester United went into the match against Tottenham Hotspur leading the league table on goal difference, but failed to hold on there as they showed ordinary performance against the Suprs and Arsenal won at Manchester City on the day. However, Manchester United claimed that the ball had been handled by Jermaine Jenas before Dimitar Berbatov sent it to Manchester United net to lead Tottenham Hotspur. Anyway, there is no excuse that Manchester United was not in good form throughout the match. They were lucky enough that they could pick up a point thanks to Carlos Tevez’s injury time goal.

Times Online reported:

But United will not face disciplinary action after players remonstrated with an assistant referee after Tottenham’s equaliser. Players thought that Jermaine Jenas, the Tottenham midfielder, had handled while on the ground in the build-up to Dimitar Berbatov’s goal.

Manchester Untied is now two points behind the league leader Arsenal. However, I do not think that Manchester United is out of title race. They are still one of the strongest contenders of the title, given the fact that their key players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez are in good form this season. So, Manchester United fans should hold on their hopes and keep on providing their support to the players of the club.
