Manchester United Dropped in the Point Table after Tottenham Hotspur Draw

Manchester United has lost their top place in the league table to Arsenal after their Saturday’s match. The irresistible Arsenal projected 3-1 victory over Manchester City to confirm their place atop of the league point table. Manchester United was traveling to While Hart Lane to face the home side, Tottenham Hotspur. This was the second meeting of Manchester Untied and Tottenham Hotspur in a week. Manchester United defeated Tottenham Hotspur in their last week FA Cup match at home.

However, Manchester United failed to continue their impressive runs as they had to struggle to end up the match with a point. Actually, Tottenham Hotspur seems better side throughout the match and took the lead in the first half thanks to Dimitar Berbatov, before Carlos Tevez scored an injury time goal that brought an unexpected point for Manchester United.

Goal.com reported:

Sir Alex Ferguson plumped for the diamond in midfield with Hargreaves in front of the defence and Scholes further forward. Ronaldo went back to the right wing and Giggs to the left as Tevez partnered Rooney up front. Giggs made a useful foray into Spurs’ territory, playing a 1-2 with Tevez, but the Welshman’s pull-back found nobody and Brown could only fire harmlessly over when Spurs lost possession.

Manchester United is now two points behind the leader Arsenal. However, the defending champions are still in the title race and breathing on the neck of Arsenal. Now, let us see if Manchester United can outperform Arsenal in the league.
