Cesc Fabregas Hopeful about Arsenal’s Premier League Title

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has expressed his hope that Arsenal will remain at the top of the point table till the end of the season. Following their 3-1 superb victory over Manchester City, and Manchester United’s draw at Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal are back atop the league table with two points clear off nearest rival Manchester United.

France international Fabregas, however, has urged his team mates to become aware not only of Manchester United, but also third placed Chelsea, who were held to a 1-1 draw against Portsmouth on Saturday. According to Fabregas, failing to win the title this season would be very much disappointing for them. Indicating their youthful side, Fabregas has added that everyone is working hard and consistent.

Goal.com reported:

“We would be very disappointed if we didn’t win it," he said. "Even though we are still young we have shown all the world what we can do. We have had to learn to be patient and now we have taken our chance.

"Apart from William Gallas and Manuel Almunia everyone is 20, 22 and 24. Everyone is happy, working hard, and we are consistent. That is really important."

The victory over Manchester City came as a relief for Arsenal. After the humiliating defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in Carling Cup, such a victory over an opponent like Manchester City might have boost up their confidence. However, Arsenal has had an impressive season in premier league so far. They are currently running without any big star in squad since Thierry Henry left the club for Barcelona last season. So, it is almost sure that Arsenal is the main challenge for Manchester United to defend their premier league title.
