Arsenal Take Five-Point Lead at the Top

Arsenal has capitalized on Manchester United’s home derby defeat to open up a five points lead at the top of premier league, by defeating touring Blackburn Rovers at the top. Arsenal has projected a 2-0 victory over Blackburn thanks to Philippe Senderos and Emmanuel Adebayor. Senderos opened scoring in the fourth minute of the match. Arsenal had sheer dominance throughout expect a few attacks of Blackburn Rovers. Arsenal missed a number of chances to reel off a big margin victory.

Belfast Telegraph reported:

It could have been over for Blackburn in the first 10 minutes of the second half; it certainly should have been. First Hleb rattled a shot against the foot of Friedel's right post and then the Blackburn goalkeeper was obliged to make an excellent save from Adebayor. It was the first time the Arsenal striker had been given the chance to run at Blackburn's defence and it was heart-in-mouth stuff for Ooijer who was left for dead before Adebayor's shot was saved.

Arsenal is now at the top of premier league with five points clear of Manchester United. Thus, Arsenal has made a step further towards another league title. However, Manchester United and Chelsea are still in the title race, though Arsenal is now in the driving seat. If Arsenal does not lose points then they will find the taste of Premier league title once again. Let us see what is waiting in the fate of Arsenal.
