Arsenal Facing Injury Woe ahead of League Clash with Blackburn Rovers

Arseanl is missing some of their injured players in their premier league clash with Blackburn Rovers tomorrow. The injury woe seems to be severe in the center half position as three center halves of the side are not available and Ivory Coast international Kolo Toure is out on international duty in African Nations Cup 2008.

However, Toure is likely to be back before the Blackburn Rovers match kicks off as he will set for England following his country’s third place deciding match. However, after seven hours of journey on way back to England, he will have less than 24 hours to take rest before the match. Defender Emmanuel EbouĂ© is also expected to be back with his team Ivorian teammate.

Independent reported:

With Johann Djourou injured and Alex Song still in Ghana with finalists Cameroon, Wenger also has an injury to Philippe Senderos, sustained against England at Wembley on Wednesday night. The Swiss defender has injured medial ligaments in his knee and, although he believes he is fit to play, Wenger said that Arsenal's medical staff have their doubts.

"We are very short at the back, with Justin Hoyte or Gilberto to come in if Senderos doesn't play," Wenger said. "At the moment we are down to the bare bones, because the team is really, really short."

Emmanuel Eboué will also be returning from duty with the Ivory Coast and is unlikely to be unavailable.

It is, for sure, that Arsene Wenger might face some problems to cope up with the situation as he has a very few options at hand. Arsenal is now leading the point table with 60 points and ahead of 2 points from Manchester United with a match at hand. Arsenal has a big chance to increase the difference as Manchester United lost to Manchester City in a derby match today. Now, let us see if Arsenal can capitalize on the opportunity.
