Venus Williams advanced in to the quarter final of Australian Open after projecting another two-set but hard-fought victory. The eighth seed had to face strong resistance in the 6-4, 6-4 victory over Marta Domachowska in the fourth round of Australian Open 2008. Venus Williams is now gearing up to face Ana Ivanovic in another grand slam tournament. Yes, Ana Ivanovic is her quarter final opponent.
The match was not as easy for Venus Williams as the score line shows. Actually, the American was challenged hardly in both the sets by the Polish qualifier Marta Domachowska, who has had a great tournament in Australian Open 2008.

Williams didn't have it all her own way, with Domachowska breaking her serve twice in the opening set. Venus was able to prevail 6-4, but not before one hell of a fight. The No.8 seed took an early lead in the second set, but just when she looked set to stroll to victory, Domachowka fought back to level again. It took every bit of the six-time Grand Slam title winners determination to eventually get over the line 6-4 6-4.
The Wimbledon 2007 winner, Venus Williams has not dropped any set in the tournament. However, she was not up to the mark with her performance.
