Justine Henin Reached Second Round of Australian Open 2008

Justine Henin has reached the second round of Australian Open 2008 with an easy 6-2, 6-2 victory over Aiko Nakamura of Japan. The world no. 1 took little time to cope up with aggressive Nakamura. Henin is very much delighted the way she roared past the Japanese. For Nakamura, she played well and was pretty much confident, though Henin outclassed the world no. 73 in direct two sets.

ABC.net reported:

"It's been the best season of my career so far but I'm really focused on this tournament now," the reigning US and French Open champion said.

"What I did last year is in the past but it gave me a lot of joy and a lot of experience and I hope I can use it this year."

Justine Henin will face Russian Olga Poutchkova in the second round. Olga Poutchkova has defeated wild card entry Monique Adamczak in two direct sets. Henin should not take Poutchkova lightly. Now, let us see if Henin can continue her performance in the second round as well. Fans are happy that Henin made a strong comeback in the Australian Open since her controversial retirement from 2006 Australian Open final due to a stomach problem.
