Arsenal Signed 15-year-old Luke Freeman

Arsenal has finally signed 15 year old, Luke Freeman from Gillingham. Arsenal could come up with the deal after trying for last few weeks, as West Ham United and Newcastle United were also interested to get Freeman. Arsenal made the deal of reportedly £200,000 which confirmed Freeman’s move to Arsenal. Freeman became the youngest player of FA Cup in November last year when he was featured in a match of Gillingham.

At first, Gillingham was not interested on the deal. Chairman Paul Scally has recently said that they agreed reluctantly to let him leave the club as they were interested to keep him in the side. However, considering the future and development of Luke Freeman, Scally got agreed to agree on the deal.

BBC reported:

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally said: "It is a shame for Gillingham to lose a special talent such as Luke but we cannot stand in the way of such a fantastic opportunity.

"Arsenal have gone about their business in a fair and commendable way so it was a pleasure to do the deal with them.

"They are a fantastic club and I know that they are the right ones to take Luke on and make him into a Premiership player."

It is very easy to decipher that how much talent and skill the 15 year old boy has in him to join a premier league team. He has been signed under the schoolboy/scholar scheme on a two year deal. By the time he will become 17, the deal will become professional. Till then, he is expected to play for Arsenal youth side. Now, let us see if Arsene Wenger has got another youngster to feature in premier league in the years to come.
