Andy Murray in Australian Open Tennis 2008

Andy Murray is the ninth seed of Australian Open 2008. He is the only top seed from Gratin Britain. The 20-year-old carries the hopes of British in the grand slam tournaments. So, from the very beginning of his career, he needs to cope up with huge pressure. Last year, he reached the fourth round of Australian Open tennis and so far that is the best performance of the youngster. Now, ahead of another tournament, Andy Murray is expected to go further this time around.

Andy Murray will face French Tsonga, whom he has beaten earlier. So, Murray must be confident enough to taken on his first round opponent.

BBC reported:

Murray's encounter with the big-hitting Tsonga ends the day session on the main show court in Melbourne. The pair have met once before when Murray beat his 22-year-old rival on his way to winning the title in Metz late last season.

"He has a good serve, is a good athlete, and hits the ball pretty hard from the baseline," said world number nine Murray.

Nonetheless, in-form Murray will be favourite to book his place in the second round - and Nadal believes the 20-year-old could have a landmark season.

Murray may not have any problem to make to the fourth round where his most probable opponent could be 8th seed Richard Gasquet. In the quarter final, he might face Nikolay Davydenko. Reaching quarter final will be considered as his achievement as he could not reach the quarter final of any grand slam tournament so far. However, if he can make it to the semi final, then Rafael Nadal or Andy Roddick could be his next hurdle to overcome. However, even he can not reach the semi final you should not give up your hope regarding his success, only because Andy Murray is full of potential.
