Ana Ivanovic Advanced into the Fourth Round of the Australian Open 2008

Ana Ivanovic has reached the fourth round of Australian Open with a two-set victory over the Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik 6-3 6-4. The match was not as easy as the score line shows. Actually, the 28th seed could throw some strong challenges for Ivanovic, however, she was up to the mark to overcome those challenges. The match lasted for one hour and 22 minutes.

The Press Association reported:

Ivanovic, the tournament's fourth seed, broke early in the first set before holding serve throughout to take the lead.

She then broke the Srebotnik serve again in the third game of the second set but was forced to survive a break point from the Slovenian in the next before holding her own serve to consolidate her lead. Ivanovic closed out the game in 82 minutes to book her spot in the fourth round.

Ana Ivanovic will now play against unseeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in the fourth round. Caroline Wozniacki has been playing excellent so far in the tournament. She outclassed the Russian Dinara Safina in the first round of the tournament. She continued to show her talent till the third round. On the other hand, Ana Ivanovic did not need more than two set to win any of the last three round matches. So, it shows her confident and performance. So, we can except an interesting match in the fourth round.
