Indian will take Scotland seriously ahead of their first match of Twenty20 world cup against Scotland. India has sent a young side for the Twenty20 world cup. Most of the members of the team have little experience of playing in international cricket. India has played only one match in Twenty20 format. So, the whole team is inexperienced in this new format of cricket. It is, no doubt, will be the biggest challenge to cope up with the every new thing that they face in South Africa. Very few members of the team have experience in playing South African condition. South Africa bouncy is totally different from the Indian wicket. Wind can also be a problem.
India reached in South Africa just two days before the start of the tournament. So, the team members could not get much time to make their plans. It will also be a problem for India in Twenty20 world cup.
Rediff reported:
So, while Scotland may be no more than a sparring partner, there is every reason for the Indians to get a head start as they eye the big game against Pakistan.
"We are playing the second World Cup in this year but what happened in the West Indies is history. This is a fresh start and I want my team to enjoy the game," captain Dhoni said.
Having arrived just 48 hours back from a long tour of Ireland and England, the Indians have had little time to get their strategy in place. And yet, their biggest headache remains in picking their best eleven.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has said that they have 12 players in the squad who can both bat and bowl. So, they have lots of options. However, I think, if India does not include Harbhajan Singh in the first line up just because of having some occasional spinners in the team then it will be a big problem for India against the Strong opponents. It is good that India takes Scotland seriously. Indian cricketers have to assimilate the new environment as soon as possible in order to think about the matches and other things. I hope, India will cope up with some impressive performances from Twenty20 world cup 2007.
