http://techblogbiz.blogspot.com/2007/09/india-vs-pakistan-t20-final-live-score.html Much awaited India vs Pakistan match in Twenty20 world cup will be held on 14 September 2007 at Kingsmead, Durban. Twenty20 is the most exciting format of cricket at this moment. Its excitement and suspense has already made it attractive to the cricket fans of the world. So, it is needless to say that ahead of the India vs Pakistan match, fans of both teams are now excited.
Both India and Pakistan experienced a disastrous ICC world cup this year as both the rival tams got out of the tournament from group stage. So, they had to face lots of criticism of their fans. Now, Twenty20 world cup 2007 is a chance for India and Pakistan to show their skill with some impressive performances. However, when India and Pakistan play against each other, the match does not remain just a cricket match. It turns into a war. So, fans of both sides are also excited and they always want their teams to dominate over their rivals. That is why, India vs Pakistan match is always something special in the cricket world. It is needless to say that India and Pakistan are also favorites for Twenty20 world cup 2007.
India’s Strength
Indian has sent relatively a youth team and most of their players do not have much experience of playing international cricket. In addition, India has played only one Twenty20 international match. So, Indian players are not so experienced in Twenty20 format. Three batting stars Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and regular captain Rahul Dravid are not in the squad. Young batsmen Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead Indian for the first time in international cricket. Being a solid big hitter, Dhoni will carry lots of responsibility in Twenty20 world cup. Supporters also expect something special from Mahendra Singh Dhoni. However, for Dhoni, it will be very hard to live up to the expectation both as a captain and batsman.
India has some solid hard hitters who can dominate over the opponent bowlers. Opener Virender Sehwag has come back to the Twenty20 world cup squad. His return will definitely brings a balance in the young team as he has lots of experience of playing in ODI and Test cricket. However, I think, Yuvraj Singh is the most consistent performer of the squad at the moment. So, much of India’s success will depend on this left hander. His hard hitting batting along with supporting off spin can give a heavy boost to the Indian side. Young Pace bowler Irfan Pathan has come back to the Indian side. Besides his pace bowling, this left hander can come up with some impressive performances in his late order batting. Robin Uthappa’s recent performance in the ODI series against England was excellent. His ability to score quickly will guide India in the tournament.
New comer Yusuf Pathan has some impressive performances in domestic cricket. Another young but talented hard hitter is Rohit Sharma who has century in Twenty20 domestic cricket. In the last few series bowling was the main problem of Indian side. In the ODI series against England, Indian bowlers were not up to the mark. However, the return of Harbhajan Singh has increased their bowling strength. Harbhajan has huge experience which will help India during the tournament. This off spinner has been left out of the team for about last six months. Young off spinner Piyush Chawla proved his skill in the ODI series against England. So, he is expected to continue his performance in Twenty20 world cup 2007. India’s pace attack was not so impressive in the recent days. Pacer Rudra Pratap Singh will lead their bowling attack along with experienced Ajit Agarkar. However, I got disappointed to see Agarkar’s performance against England. Young pacer S Sreesanth has some impressive performances in his short career but sometimes he becomes expensive. So, it will be a hard challenge for him to cope up with Twenty20 format.
India’s 15 Men Twenty 20 Squad:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (C), Yuvraj Singh (VC), Virender Sehwag, Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Yusuf Pathan, Joginder Sharma, Rudra Pratap Singh, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla, Ajit Agarkar, S Sreesanth.
My Best 11 for India against Pakistan:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (C), Yuvraj Singh (VC), Virender Sehwag, Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Rudra Pratap Singh, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla.
This is my personal opinion regarding India’s best 11 against Pakistan in Twenty20 world cup. You may not agree with me regarding the best 11 of Indian team against Pakistan. I have included four specialist bowlers in order to increase the batting strength of Indian side. I said earlier that Indian bowlers were not up to the mark in the recent days and that is why, two experienced bowlers Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan can play a vital role for Indian team as they have flurry of experience in international cricket. It is also true that Ajit Agarkar is also experienced but his recent performance was really poor and I think, Rudra Pratap Singh and Irfan Pathan will be more effective. In Twenty20 cricekt batsmen are seen in dominant position and that is why, it is needed to increase the deepness of batting line up. I preferred Rohit Sharma to Yusuf Pathan, Joginder Sharma because of his performance in domestic Twenty20 cricket. His bowling performance is also impressive in domestic Twenty20 cricket.
Pakistan Strength
Pakistan came to play in Twenty20 world cup 2007 with the aim of showing some excellent performance to provide with some occasions for their fans to celebrate. After the disastrous performance in the last ICC World Cup, there have been huge changes in the Pakistan team. Young all rounder Shoaib Malik is now the Captain of Pakistan team. Twenty20 world cup will be the first major tournament for Shoaib Malik. So, it will definitely be a big challenge for him to face India such an important tournament.
Pakistan team has got a big blow before the start of the tournament as they lost their strike bowler Shoaib Akhtar from the squad. However, I think, their bowling line up still looks very strong and their bowlers can lead Pakistan in Twenty20 world cup. Young all rounder Sohail Tanvir joined Pakistan team in the place of Shoaib Akhter. So, Pakistan team has the potential to impress with their performance in Twenty20 world cup 2007.
Pakistan has some big hitter in the squad including Captain Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Imran Nazir. All rounder Shoaib Malik can lead his team with his big hits and effective off spin bowling. Shahid Afridi does not need any introduction. Pakistan fans are now eagerly waiting to see a series of lofted shots from this experienced member of Pakistan team. His leg spin bowling will bring a balance in Pakistan bowling. Opener Imran Nazir can put on some quick runs to form the foundation of a big score. However, I think, Younis Khan will be the most dependable performer for Pakistan in Twenty20 world cup. Another thing is that Younis Khan always plays well India. So, Indian bowlers should be careful about Younis Khan. I think, Pakistan team is a combination of youth and experienced players. So, Pakistan squad looks balanced. Mohammad Hafeez is another important member of Pakistan team. The all rounder can give a boost to the Pakistan innings playing a descent innings in the opening. However, his off break bowling can be vital for the opponent batsmen as he showed some excellent performance for Pakistan in the past. Young all rounder Fawad Alam has the potential to become a star in Twenty20 world cup.
However, it is needless to say that bowling is the main strength of Pakistan team. Their young pace attack can lead Pakistan in the tournament. To begin with, Mohammad Asif is undoubtedly one of the best fast bowlers at this moment in the world. However, his recent performance is not so impressive. Last year, Asif could prove his class with some excellent performances. Umar Gul is another young pacer of Pakistan who is full of potential. Two other pace bowlers Iftikhar Anjum and Abdur Rehman are play in good form. So, though Shoaib Akhter’s getting out of the team has become a great lose, Pakistan can fill up the gap and prove their ability in Twenty20 world cup.
For spinners, Pakistan has some all rounders who can serve with their spin bowling besides their batting. Captain Shoaib Malik will lead Pakistan’s spin bowling. Mohammad Hafeez is also impressive with his off spin bowling. Shahid Afridi can also perform with his leg spin bowling and can bring some important break through for Pakistan. It is needless to say that both Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez are expected to perform in batting. So, it can be a pressure for these two all rounders. So, Pakistan selectors should have included a specialist spinner. Especially Danish Kaneria can play a big part with his leg spin bowling. So, against India, Pakistan may have some problems with their spin bowling.
Pakistan’s 15 Men Twenty 20 Squad:
Shoaib Malik (c), Imran Nazir, Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Fawad Alam, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal (wk), Misbah-ul-Haq, Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Iftikhar Anjum, Abdur Rehman, Yasir Arafat, Sohail Tanvir
My Best 11 for Pakistan against India:
Shoaib Malik (c), Imran Nazir, Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Fawad Alam, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal (wk), Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Iftikhar Anjum, Abdur Rehman
Well, this is my personal selection of Pakistan’s first line up against India in the Twenty20 world cup. So, you do not need to agree with my opinion. You may have your own choices. I thiknk, these line up looks balanced and dangerous for any team in the world. I have included four solid fast bowling and seven batsmen. It is an advantage for Pakistan that they have two impressive all rounders in the team. I preferred Iftikhar Anjum to Yasir Arafat on the basis of experience and recent performance in international cricket. Pakistan’s batting line up here seems to be very strong. So, I think, this can be very best line for Pakistan against India.
Players who can dominate in the India vs Pakistan match in Twenty20 world cup
Shoaib Malik
This all rounder can come up with his hard hitting batting along with his excellent off spin bowling against India. In the past, Shoaib Malik played well against India. So, Pakistan fans will expect something special from this young all rounder in the upcoming Twenty20 world cup match against India. As the captain of the team, Shoaib Malik will have some pressure but he has the talent to over come it and lead his team to win against India. So, India should have a definite plan to face this all rounder.
Mohammad Hafeez
This all rounder has already proven his skill and talent to the cricket world. To many, he can be a great all rounder if he can continue his success in the cricket world. It is natural that an all rounder always has two chances to perform for his team because if he fails with his bat, he can serve with his bowling. This opening batsman can provide with some descent runs to give a good foundation of their innings. He looks more impressive in his bowling in recent matches. So, Mohammad Hafeez can be vital for Indian batsmen in their Twenty20 world cup meeting on 14 September.
Shahid Afridi
I think, Shahid Afridi does not need any introduction. Shahid Afridi is regarded as one of the best hard hitters of present day. His recent performance is also very impressive. In Twenty20 Quadrangular (in Kenya), 2007/08 series, he consistently played well. His valiant 57 off just 15 balls was something unique even in Twenty20 cricket. Shahid Afridi’s leg spin bowling created lots of problem for the Indian batsmen in the past. So, both Indian batsmen and bowlers should have some plans to stop Shahid Afridi in the match against Pakistan.
Mohammad Asif
If you make a list of promising and talented fast bowlers of present time then, no doubt, you can not left this name from your list. Yes, Mohammad Asif is now the one of the best fast bowlers in the world. Howevr, because of his doping controversy, his career was on the verge of its end but he could come back to the team and now he is ready to serve Pakistan in Twenty20 world cup. Mohammad Asif will lead the pace attack of Pakistan against India. Though he could not impress in the warm up match, he is expected to play a big part for Pakistan against their rival India in their last pool match in Twenty20 world cup. So, Indian batsmen must have some specific plan just to face Mohammad Asif.
Umar Gul
Pakistan is a land of fast bowlers where fast bowlers are available in every street. Umar Gul is another excellent fast bowler of Pakistan team. Along with Asif, Umar Gul is expected to lead the Pakistan pace attack in Twenty20 world cup. It is needless to say that Umar Gul is full of youth and confidence. He has the ability to outperform the success of others in his day. Maintaining line and length, he can take wicket. So Umar Gul may come up with an excellent spell against India.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Dhoni is undoubtedly one of the best hard hitters of the world. Much of India’s success in Twenty20 world cup will depend on Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Moreover, Dhoni has impressive performances against Pakistan. So, Pakistani bowlers know very well that how much destruction, Dhoni can bring out. As a captain of Indian team, Dhoni will have some pressure as well because he will have to take the responsibility of Indian batting. However, he has talent that will help him to feel free from pressure. So, naturally, Dhoni can come up with an excellent innings against Pakistan.
Yuvraj Singh
No doubt, he is one of the best middle order batsmen at this moment in the world. His consistent performance in the last few years has made him a dependable batsman of Indian team. His hard hitting batting can give a huge boost for the Indian team in the Twenty 20 world cup 2007. So, ahead of the important match against arch rival Pakistan Indian fans expect something special form his. I think, Yuvraj Singh can lead Indian in the match hitting a series of big shots. So, Pakistan bowlers have to be careful about Yuvraj Singh.
Virender Sehwag
This opening batsman does not need any introduction. His hard hitting batting both in test and ODI cricket has been acclaimed by the critics. However, after the disastrous early exit of Indian team from the last ICC world cup, Virender Sehwag got out of the team. Now, coming back to the Twenty20 squad, he must be determined to perform well in order to get back his place in ODI and Test team. So, I think, Virender Sehwag will try his best to prove himself once again to the world. Virender Sehwag has many good experiences against Pakistan. So, the bowlers of Pakistan will try to stop him early in the Indian innings. Now, Indian fans are eagerly waiting to see some lofted shots against Pakistan.
Irfan Pathan
After Kapil Dev India did not get any fast bowlers who could dominate over the opponent batsmen. So, with the rise of Irfan Pathan in internaitnla cricket many cricket analysts thought that Irfan Pathan can be the next great bowler of Indian cricket team. Irfan Pathan looked very imprpessive. However, from the second half of the last year, his performance was very poor and after the ICC world cup this year, Pathan got out of the Indian team. For him, Twenty20 is a big chance to reatian his palce in both ODI and Test cricket. Irfan Pathan has some excellent batting performances as well in both test and ODI cricket. So, his big hitting lower order batting can be very effective against Pakistan. Indian fans are eagerly waiting to see an inform Irfan Pathan against their arch rivals.
Harbhajan Singh
I think, Harbhajan Singh is now the best spinner in India. However, for last few months he was out of the Indian team. It is good for India that Harbhajan could come back to the Twenty20 world cup squad. I think, Harbhajan can be vital for Pakistan batsmen in the pool stage match. He will lead Indian spin bowling attack in Twenty20 world cup. For Harbhajan Singh, he needs to use this chance to come back his place in ODI and Test cricket. He has to prove his talent and skill once again in world cricket. So, Indian fans can hope to see an excellent spell from this off spinner.
