Australia vs India ODI series 2007 is now just few days away. The first ODI match of the series will be held on next Saturday. It is expected that the series will be very competitive. Australia will try to take the revenge of their semi final defeat to India in the recently held Twenty20 world cup. India will also be confident to face Australia as they have won the Twenty20 world cup.
Australia is the current world champion. However, they failed to continue their dominance in Twenty20 world cup. So, no doubt, Australia must want to win the ODI series against India in order to prove that their dominance is still alive. Australia has the capability to bounce back and Australian fans will be happy to see their team win the ODI series in India.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting has fallen in an injury during the Twenty20 world cup and missed the semi final match against India. It has become a major concern in Australian team now. It is not sure yet that Ricky Ponting will play all of the ODI matches of the series. Ricky Ponting’s exclusion will create a problem in Australian middle order batting. So, Australian fans should now pray for their captain so that he becomes fit before the ODI series begins. Adam Gilchrist will captain Australia in absence of their regular captain Ricky Ponting. I think, Mathew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist, Michael Hussey and Brad Hodge will play a big part for Australian batting. Among the bowlers, Stuart Clark will be vital for Indian batsmen. Brett Lee will also have a lot to play for his team.
