India vs Australia ODI Series 2007: All Tickets of First ODI Sold Out

The first ODI match of India vs Australia ODI series 2007 will be held at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Interestingly all ticket of the first ODI match have been sold out already. The match will be held on 29 September. So, it looks that Indian fans are over excited regarding the coming ODI series against Australia. To tell the truth, India’s Twenty20 world cup triumph led the fans to be interested more about the ODI series against Australia.

India has recently won the Twenty20 world cup title and that is why, India’s cricket crazy fans are now again interested to cricket. After the disastrous performance of Indian team in the last ICC world cup, fans in India started losing their passion for cricket. Now, with the Twenty20 success, Indian fans are coming out for cricket.

The Hindu reported:
Fans made a beeline on Sunday evening itself, much earlier than the counters were to open the next day. By the afternoon, "Tickets Sold Out" board greeted the fans.
This time, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had also facilitated booking of tickets online which contributed to the quick offtake.
"Tickets for one-day internationals normally get sold fast. But this time, it was very quick thanks to India's performance in the Twenty20 world cup," a KSCA official said.

India is cricket crazy country. After the poor performance of Indian team in the last ICC world cup this year, BCCI had to struggle to arrange sponsors for the cricket tournaments. However, now the situation will change as people are enjoying India’s success in Twenty20 world cup. So, ahead of the India vs Australia ODI Series 2007, fans are naturally very excited and they are expecting some more success from Indian team at the home soil. Let us see if India can continue their success against Australia in the ODI series at home.

Australian Squad: India vs Asutralia ODI Series 2007

Australia vs India ODI series 2007 is now just few days away. The first ODI match of the series will be held on next Saturday. It is expected that the series will be very competitive. Australia will try to take the revenge of their semi final defeat to India in the recently held Twenty20 world cup. India will also be confident to face Australia as they have won the Twenty20 world cup.

Australia is the current world champion. However, they failed to continue their dominance in Twenty20 world cup. So, no doubt, Australia must want to win the ODI series against India in order to prove that their dominance is still alive. Australia has the capability to bounce back and Australian fans will be happy to see their team win the ODI series in India.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting has fallen in an injury during the Twenty20 world cup and missed the semi final match against India. It has become a major concern in Australian team now. It is not sure yet that Ricky Ponting will play all of the ODI matches of the series. Ricky Ponting’s exclusion will create a problem in Australian middle order batting. So, Australian fans should now pray for their captain so that he becomes fit before the ODI series begins. Adam Gilchrist will captain Australia in absence of their regular captain Ricky Ponting. I think, Mathew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist, Michael Hussey and Brad Hodge will play a big part for Australian batting. Among the bowlers, Stuart Clark will be vital for Indian batsmen. Brett Lee will also have a lot to play for his team.

Australia’s 15 Men Squad

Ricky Ponting(c), Adam Gilchrist(vc), Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin, Matthew Hayden, Ben Hilfenhaus, Brad Hodge, Brad Hogg, James Hopes, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds, Adam Voges, Michael Hussey, Shaun Tait, Shane Watson

matches in the tour. After the ODI series, both teams will play a Twenty20 match as well. Fans are expecting to see an exciting ODI series between India and Australia. India has become the champion of Twenty20 world cup 2007. So, no doubt, India will be inspired to continue their recent success in the ODI series against Australia. On the other hand, Australia could not make it to the final in Twenty20 world cup after being defeated to India in the semi final. So, they will be determined to regain their dominance in world cricket. Australia will try their best to take the revenge of their lose to India in Twenty20 world cup.

The upcoming India vs Australia ODI series 2007 will be something different from the previous India vs Australia series. Australia is now the champion of ICC world cup and India is the champion of Twenty20 world cup. So, India vs Australia ODI series will be a series between two champion teams in two different cricket formats. As the series will be held in India, it is expected that India will make spinning track. So, India must have some advantages against Australia.

India and Australia are two big teams in world cricket. Both teams have lots of success in the world cricket. India is always very strong at home. So, Australia will face a strong challenge from India. Though it is also true that India got success in Twenty20 world cup, they have to remember that it is ODI cricket that is totally different from ODI cricket. So, they have to assimilate with the ODI format quickly. As neither India nor Australia will play any ODI match before the series, both teams may have problem to cope up with ODI cricket. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become the new ODI captain of Indian team. India vs Australia ODI series will be his first assignment in ODI cricket. Dhoni has proved his captaincy quality in Twenty20 world cup but he is yet to prove his ability to captain India in ODI.
