Kunchhang Moktan represents Nepal in Miss Tourism Queen Intenational 2007

This year, Kunchhang Moktan from Nepal has participated in Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 beauty pageant. Gorkhapatra reports:

Defeating 13 contestants Kunchhang Moktan won Miss Tourism Queen International Pageant- 2007 organized yesterday for the promotion of tourism in Pokhara. She also bagged the photogenic award.

The second Miss Queen, Kunchhang will represent Nepal in the Miss Tourism Queen International Competition to be held in July in China.

Wearing the tiara after being Miss Queen, Kunchhang said tourism can play an important role to alleviate poverty. "I will represent the natural and cultural importance of Nepal in the competition in China."

In the competition held in Phulbari Resort and Spa of Pokhara, Ashta Laxmi Gurung and Chet Kumari Gurung were the first and second runner ups respectively.

The domestic level contest was organized by Group of Entertainers and promoted by Nepal Tourism board. Fifteen girls took part in the competition, who were trained by Rojin Shakya.

Nepal is a small country situated near the Himalayas. Because of its unique geographical location and beautiful landscape, the country attracts thousands tourists every year. Tourism is the most prosperous industry in Nepal. Miss International Tourism Queen is a great opportunity for the country to promote its tourism sector.
