Contestants of Miss Tourism Queen International 2007

Miss Tourism Queen International is an international beauty competition where contestants from different countries take part. Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 is now going on in China, The competition has been started on July 7, 2007. You may not be so familiar with this beauty pageant. Miss Universe and Miss World are the two top most beauty pageants in the world and have a worldwide popularity. The development of the world tourism is the main objective of this tournament.

In Miss Tourism Queen International 2007, 100 participants from different countries are going to take part. All the participants will try to promote the tourism sector of their own countries. I am giving the names of the participants of Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 below:

Kunchhang Moktan represents Nepal in Miss Tourism Queen Intenational 2007

This year, Kunchhang Moktan from Nepal has participated in Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 beauty pageant. Gorkhapatra reports:

Defeating 13 contestants Kunchhang Moktan won Miss Tourism Queen International Pageant- 2007 organized yesterday for the promotion of tourism in Pokhara. She also bagged the photogenic award.

The second Miss Queen, Kunchhang will represent Nepal in the Miss Tourism Queen International Competition to be held in July in China.

Wearing the tiara after being Miss Queen, Kunchhang said tourism can play an important role to alleviate poverty. "I will represent the natural and cultural importance of Nepal in the competition in China."

In the competition held in Phulbari Resort and Spa of Pokhara, Ashta Laxmi Gurung and Chet Kumari Gurung were the first and second runner ups respectively.

The domestic level contest was organized by Group of Entertainers and promoted by Nepal Tourism board. Fifteen girls took part in the competition, who were trained by Rojin Shakya.

Nepal is a small country situated near the Himalayas. Because of its unique geographical location and beautiful landscape, the country attracts thousands tourists every year. Tourism is the most prosperous industry in Nepal. Miss International Tourism Queen is a great opportunity for the country to promote its tourism sector.

Aruni Rajapakse represents Sri Lanka in Miss Tourism Queen Intenational 2007

Aruni Rajapakse will represent Sri Lanka at the Miss Tourism Queen International 2007. Sunday Times reports:

Aruni will spend about three weeks touring in China. Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 which will be the fourth annual edition of the Miss Tourism Queen International beauty pageant will have more than 100 delegates from around the world vying for the crown.

“The Tourist Board of Sri Lanka has been actively involved in training Aruni on the tourism promotional aspect of Sri Lanka” said Rosita Wickremasinghe, National Director for Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe. The local contest is organised by Images Studio Pvt. Ltd.

Situated on the south of India, Sri Lanka is a small island known as the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean.” A small country, this island like Nepal has a lot to offer to the tourists. Beautiful sandy beaches, hills, forests, are major spot for eco tourism. Since ancient time, this little island has been serving as a major sea port. So the tourists will find many great historical sites. Miss Tourism Queen International will serve as a major platform for promoting tourism for Sri Lanka.

Anisa Abdilahi represents New Zealand in Miss Tourism Queen Intenational 2007

Meet Anisa Abdilahi, one of the six contestants sent by New Zealand to participate in Miss Tourism Queen International 2007. The contestants were chosen from Miss Tourism New Zealand Asia Pacific beauty pageant held in May in Auckland. Stuff.co.nz reports:

Abdilahi, who is from Somalia, joined 16 other hopefuls at the pageant and was judged on a variety of factors, including her speaking skills, her bikini body and her chosen talent - belly dancing.

The 18-year-old, who is training to be an air hostess, says the pageant was a nerve-racking experience.

"I'm normally a really shy person," she says.

"I just tried my best not to look at the audience."

Abdilahi might find it hard to control her nerves at the Chinese contest. Major television networks will be broadcasting the event throughout the world.

Miss Tourism Queen which started since 1949 held more than 80 competitions. China has been hosting the competition since 2004. This year, more than one hundred countries will be participating in this contest. New Zealand is a major tourist destination around the world and this contest will give the country a major opportunity to promote its tourism industry.

Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 Starts in China

Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 beauty pageant has already been started from July 7 in China. The competition will be held among the 100 contestants from 100 countries around the world. The main reason of organizing Miss Tourism Queen International is to increase the development of the tourism sector of different countries and to build a relationship among the countries as a means of sharing culture among themselves.

Aruni Rajapakse is representing Sri Lanka in the competition and before leaving Sri Lanka she has taken training on how to promote Sri Lankan tourism in the world. Thu Trang, a Vietnamese model is taking part in the competition representing her country Vietnam in Miss Tourism Queen International 2007. Trieu Nguyen Thu Trang is her full name. Earlier Thu Trang won Miss Tuyen Quang of 2006. The 21 year old Thu Trang is now a regular model in Vietnam.

Through Miss Tourism Queen International, contestants can present culture and history of their countries to the world. The participants from different countries will be engaged in one place for the crown. However, to the crown, the contestants have to have both beauty and intelligence. The participants are now dreaming of winning the crown but the competition authorities now might be dreaming of thedevelopment of tourism worldwide.
